GU FAMILY BOOK (Episode 9)

At the Moonhyun Martial Arts Academy, Choi Kang Chi has just been introduced to the students. Then Park Tae Seo leaves the room and walks towards Dam Yeo Wool and Choi Kang Chi. Seeing a family member, Kang Chi is elated to see Park Tae Seo.  Seeing him weak, the happy Choi Kang Chi meets him halfway.

But without a word, Park Tae Seo thrusts the sword he is holding to Choi Kang Chi! Kang Chi asks why but Tae Seo asked him why did he kill his father.  Kang Chi falls on his knees while Tae Seo aims to slash him when Yeo Wool blocks the sword.
Yeo Wool orders Tae Seo to put down the sword but the latter refused and even instructs Yeo Wool to back off.  Tae Seo will strike again when Gon hit him in his back that led him to fall on the ground.

Kang Chi, who is bleeding profusely, lost consciousness in Yeo Wool's arms.  While Kang Chi is being treated, Master Dam and Gon interrogate Tae Seo and discovered that he is under a strong hypnosis because he couldn’t remember who else were present when his father died.
When the evening falls, Yeo Wool checks the condition of Kang Chi. One of the the academy’s senior who treated Kang Chi said he is still bleeding but if it continues, he might not make it in the morning.
Worried, Yeo Wool enters the room and sees a weak, pale, bloodied Kang Chi.  Seeing Kang Chi closer, Yeo Wool accidentally touched the scars – proof that Kang Chi saved her life twice:  from the ninja and the dog. Remembering what transpired in the forest, Yeo Wool tries to remove the bracelet when she remembered what sujong told her that the bracelet must not take it off.

But because Kang Chi might die, Yeo Wool nevertheless takes off the bracelet.  She thought the healing would happen as soon as she takes off the bracelet but it didn't.  Yeo Wool seemed hopeless when she sees the blue magical lights fly and seep through Kang Chi’s skin.  But as soon as the wound is heal, Kang Chi's mythical form is awaken!

In an instant, Kang Chi grabs Yeo Wool who accidentally hit the candlestick. Kang Chi asks her what did she do to him.  With Kang Chi strangling her hands on her neck, Yeo Wool explains that she is trying to treat him.  Kang Chi remembers what happened.
Then Yeo Wool, who managed to sit down, convinces Kang Chi to wear back his bracelet.  It was when Yeo Wool calls his name that Kang Chi softens and offers his hand.  Yeo Wool gladly puts back the bracelet.  As soon as Kang Chi turns human again, he becomes weak and falls on Yeo Wool.

Gon, who heard Kang Chi’s growling, enters the room and sees Yeo Wool who asks for his help.  With the help of Gon, Yeo Wool dresses up Kang Chi as if he is still a patient.  Yeo Wool follows Gon outside and asks if he will report it to his father.  Annoyed, Gon asks which would he tell – that she took off his bracelet because Kang Chi is dying or she almost died because she took off Kang Chi’s bracelet?  Gon also confronts Yeo Wool about her wound and promise if Kang Chi hurts her, he will kill him.

The following morning, Master Dam and Yeo Wool receive report that Kang Chi disappeared.  Yeo Wool leaves the room to find him.

Kang Chi is eating some potato when he meets Seung, one of the students who helped in treating him the previous night. He asked for some meat but Seung tells Kang Chi that Master Gong Dal, in-charge of housekeeping, doesn’t allow him to touch any food or he’ll be in trouble.  Then without meeting the person, Kang Chi judges him as a mean and cheap old man.  He asks Seung where can he find other food and he will take care of Gong Dal.
Unknown to Kang Chi, the master is already behind him.  When the master asked him what he would do, Kang Chi turn around surprised and then Seung tells him it is the master Gong Dal.
Kang Chi couldn’t believe it even saying aloud the term old man which pissed the master, hitting him on the head with the master's broomstick.  Master Gong Dal advises  Kang Chi that when he sees an elder, he should pay respect.  He also asks why is he still seated ignoring his presence.  Rude and ill-mannered, Kang Chi even wanted to brag who he is.  But as soon as he stands up, Master Gong Dal hits him in different parts of his body until he is almost knocked down on the floor. He added that when Kang Chi is in his quarters, he should show some respect.

Then Yeo Wool arrives, greets the master and explains that they just brought in Kang Chi the previous day.  Yeo Wool promises to take him out of the quarters.  When Kang Chi stands up, Yeo Wool twists his ears and pulls him out of the quarters.
Outside, Yeo Wool rants at Kang Chi for disappearing and for loitering in the academy, which should not be the case because everyone knows he almost died.  Seriously, Kang Chi thanks Yeo Wool and pleads her to never take his bracelet off without his knowledge because he doesn’t want to hurt her.

Master Dam called Kang Chi, Yeo Wool, Gon and Tae Seo in a meeting.  Kang Chi and Tae Seo were informed about the hypnosis and the former was ordered to avoid Tae Seo as much as possible while Tae Seo must control himself and outpower the hypnosis.
But Kang Chi flared up saying he did not save Tae Seo just to be weak and he will not be a coward hiding from someone because of hypnosis.

At the dining hall, Kang Chi meets the other students including the one who treated him.  He found his table at the end of the hall.  He was so excited that he gets upset seeing a bowl of porridge and soy sauce on his table.

When he asked Seung who prepared his meal, he was informed that its Gong Dal. Master Gong Dal is eating steamed chicken when Kang Chi throws the porridge on the floor. He tells the young man that he is not just disrespectful to people but to food as well. Kang Chi tells Gong Dal that he should not discriminate people.  But Gong Dal asks Kang Chi if he is human.  Then without a word, he hits Kang Chi in his wounded body.  Gong Dal stress that no matter how strong a person is, it is impossible for a person to heal that fast with such deep stabwound.
Kang Chi advises that Gong Dal should watch what he say.  But the wise man claim his broom is better than Kang Chi who is just all talk.  Kang Chi brags he could break his broom in half leading Gong Dal to challenge the young man to grab his broom.  If he makes it, he will give him chicken.  Excited to eat meat, Kang Chi agrees and start grabbing the broom from Gong Dal but ends getting hit from head to toe.

Choi Kang Chi is unaware that the group of Dam Pyeong Joon, consists of Gon, Yeo Wool, Tae Seo and Master Dam, as ordered by the Admiral, should retrieve the silvers placed inside a huge safe in the Hundred Year Inn.
The problem is it is located in Jo Kwan Woong’s room.  Park Tae Seo is showing the whole map of the Hundred Year Inn when a worker knocks.  Dam Pyeong Joon tells the group that the worker is the best in the province that can fix the floor that was damaged when Kang Chi split the table of Jo Kwan Woong using a broomstick.  Tae Seo’s face show concern when he sees the worker but Dam Pyeong Joon explains that the elder is part of the team.  The worker assures Tae Seo that he is just repaying Park Moo Sol’s kindness.
The worker reports that as expected, Jo Kwan Woong has asked for him to check the damaged floor.  He suggested repairing of the entire room that would probably be complete in a week.
But Jo Kwan Woong wants it done in four days.  Yeo Wool suggested that Kang Chi should be part of the team since he also knows the Hundred Year Inn.  However, her father explains the mission is dangerous.

Now back at the kitchen.  Choi Kang Chi may be young and even have super powers but he couldn’t keep up with Gong Dal’s skills.
Kang Chi gets beaten by the broom and gets knocked down. In the end, Gong Dal admits that he is one of the four masters of the academy.
This leaves Kang Chi dumbfounded.  The next thing you know, Kang Chi is seen cleaning metal bowls beside Master Gong Dal, who inquire about Kang Chi’s reported closeness to the admiral.  The conversation of the two ends in a bet with Kang Chi to bring an item from the admiral to prove their closeness in exchange for a whole cooked chicken!

Because his room is being repaired, Jo Kwan Woong is staying at the gisaeng house where he is glad to see Park Chung Jo.

Before the team leaves, Yeo Wool puts medicine in her wound from the candlestick she accidentally hit the night when Kang Chi’s mythical side woke up after she took off his bracelet.
When she meets Tae Seo at the grounds, she felt offended when the latter doesn’t want him to be part of the mission because she is a woman.  Tae Seo apologizes.

At the Hundred Year Inn, Gon and Yeo Wool are surprised to see Choi Kang Chi seated inside the room of Jo Kwan Woong.
Amidst their discussion on Choi Kang Chi's sudden involvement in their mission, the half mythical creature noticed sweat on Yeo Wool’s forehead.  He suddenly touches it to check her temperature.
This annoyed Gon until the two men are almost in a fight.  Yeo Wool try to go between them but both men doesn’t want to give in until they heard someone is coming to check the room.
The elder worker is trying to stop Deputy Seo from coming in but to no avail.  Inside, the guard sees a worker covered in a mask, Gon.  He tells Gon and the wise worker to remove the painting that Jo Kwan Woong likes located at the hidden door when he heard a sound coming from the wall!

Kang Chi and Yeo Wool are hiding behind the door of the safe.  They were about to move further when Yeo Wool tripped, thus, creating a noise.  Kang Chi manage to catch her but gets shocked when he realizes where his hand is resting – Yeo Wool’s chest!
Problem is the guard outside wants the door of the safe be opened!
Will the guards of Jo Kwan Woong find out? Is it fate that Kang Chi accidentally discovers the identity of Yeo Wool?  Will he finally remember who she is in his life?  Their love story is getting more and more exciting!
