THE HEIRS/ Inheritors 4

Clad in a light blue top and jeans, Cha Eun Sang enters the airport as she is all set to go back to South Korea.  Little did she know that she will see something in the airport that will wound her heart – Kim Tan is being hugged by his girlfriend Yoo Rachel who is also bound to Seoul.
Hurt, Cha Eun Sang turns around to leave when Kim Tan sees her.  Oblivious of the person in front of him, Kim Tan see Cha Eun Sang and calls her to stop!
Kim Tan tells his fiancé to text him when she gets back and hurriedly walks towards Cha Eun Sang.  Annoyed for being ignored, Kim Tan confronts Cha Eun Sang for not calling him but the latter just asked what the young man wants to tell her.
Then Kim Tan shows his mobile phone and tells Eun San to give her number.  Stunned by his actions, Eun Sang sees Yoo Rachel who is still standing where Kim Tan left her.  Eun Sang then expresses her gratitude and bids goodbye to Tan.  She adds that he shouldn’t leave his fiancé alone just to ask for her phone number.  Cha Eun Sang walks out leaving Kim Tan standing – sad and disappointed.
She walks past Yoo Rachel.  On board the plane, the flight attendant gave Yoo Rachel the immigration form to fill up.  She stands up and proceeds to the economy class to search for Cha Eun Sang.  When she sees her, a not so nice small talk occurs and later Yoo Rachel grabs the immigration form of Cha Eun Sang.
The latter tried to get it from the fashion heiress but the flight attendant stopped her from entering the first class cabin.  At the airport, Yoo Rachel gets some “warm” welcome from her stepbrother-to-be Young Do while Cha Eun Sang is all alone.
Inside car, Young Do raises the volume of the music he is listening but Yoo Rachel turns it off.  Young Do ignores her and turns the music up again but while he is enjoying his noise, Yoo Rachel turns its off again.
The two gets into an argument.  Rachel mentions Kim Tan.  She even makes up a story that she told Kim Tan about Young Do, a fox who acts like a king because the tiger is away from his cave. The mere mention of the name Kim Tan has put Young Do to the edge of his tiny little patience so he orders the chauffer to pullover the car.
Angry, he somehow implies that he knows something about Kim Tan, a tiger he is said who is scared for the truth to come out.  Before Rachel could even say a word, Young Do says his greetings have ended then he gets off the car.  He stands on the side of the road fuming mad.
Meanwhile, Cha Eun Sang gets the surprise of her life when she opened the door of their house – its empty!  When she talked to their landlady, she gets the information that her mother moved out to work as a live-in maid.
She borrows the mobile phone of their landlady so she could get in touch her mother, who tells her to sleep in a sauna for the meantime because the situation at the mansion is not so great due to the chairman’s health condition. Cha Eun Sang sleeps in her old, empty room instead.
In the US, Kim Tan is in deep thought resting by the pool while his friends are having fun in the water.  He grabs his phone just to look at Eun Sang and Chan Young’s photo posted on Eun Sang’s social media account.
He stares at the photo for a while before he stops to think. The Heirs introduces more charact er with Lee Hyo Shin’s tutor Jeon Hyun Joo being scolded by the former’s mom inside their house.  Lee Hyo Shin’s mom reiterates what the tutor must wear inside their residence.
Jeon Hyun Joo is surprised to find her student Lee Hyo Shin already waiting in the room.
The young man asks if she finds his family annoying to which the tutor agrees.  When he asked why don’t she quit, Hyeon Joo admits that Mrs Lee is paying her well and she needs that money.  Lee Hyon Shin says he likes everything that his mom tells Hyeon Joo not to do.
The latter likes it too but she will obey what was told her adding Hyon Shin’s personal preference will not help her earn money.  Then the two proceed with their lesson.  Before they could even start, Hyeon Joo get a call from Kim Won.  She drops the call.  Kim Won is in a jewelry shop buying a necklace.   Kim Won sees a necklace with a wishbone pendant.  The jeweler claims that the necklace will make dreams true.

Meanwhile, Cha Eun Sang learns from her mother that the money she spent in the US was from the deposit of their apartment.  She couldn’t stop her mouth.  She asks how her mother could give all their money to her sister whose marriage was a lie.  Hee Nam said she heard all about it because Eun Seok called and apologized and asks if Eun Sang got back okay.  Eun Sang questions her mom who explains that she cannot do or say anything over the phone other than tap it.  Eun Sang reiterates that her mom should not have given their money to a bitch that left her mom and sister to live on her own. Hee Nam whacks Eun Sang for calling her sister a bitch.  Then Eun Sang presents their problem.  Hee Nam asks her to wait for awhile.  A car arrives at the gate.  Eun Sang is curious who the owner is.  It’s Chairman’s second wife, Jeong Ji-suk.  Inside the mansion, Park Hee Nam tries her way to convince Madam Ae to accept Eun Sang to live and work in the mansion.  Because Park Hee Nam knows the madam’s secret, the latter agrees.
Park Hee Nam was about to introduce Eun Sang when they see Madam Ae and the Chairman's second wife in a heated altercation. The two women are sending below the below insults until Ji-suk slaps Tan’s mom.  All were surprised including Eun Sang but nobody ever made a comment the moment Kim Won steps in the room.
It was as if nothing happened between the two. Park Hee Nam tells her daughter to bring the medicines of the Chairman since Madam Ae orders her to do something.  Lost, Eun Sang is holding the medicine while looking around when Kim Won sees her and signals which door to take.
At the Chairman’s room, Kim Won waited for Eun Sang to leave before he reports to his father.  Eun Sang has identified herself as soon as she puts down the medicine and then leaves.  Kim Won tells his father that he met Tan but his father frankly tells him that he knew Tan did not join the gathering.  The Chairman tells his son to bring his younger brother back from exile.  He explains that he already allowed him to hurt Tan long enough.  If Won will not do it, he will.  Won reasons out that the pain and fairness being argued by his father is entirely different from his point of view.
Meanwhile, Madam Han is talking to Park Hee Nam when she realizes that Won has just returned from America.  She runs to his room to find out if Won has met with Tan.  But Won remains cold to her and did not give specific answers to her inquiries.  Alone in the Malibu beach, Kim Tan remembers the harsh words and cold treatment he received from his brother.  Back at the mansion, Eun Sang inquires to her mother who should she be wary of, the wife or the mistress.  But her mother corrects her saying it is the second wife and the mistress, making Eun Sang more surprised.  Her mother is telling about the family’s situation when Madam Han walks in, prompting Cha Eun Sang to change the topic.  Eun Sang gives her greetings to Madam Han who inquires things about her.  Madam Ae warns her not to spread rumors outside the mansion.  She also insulted that Eun Sang’s mom cannot spread rumors even if she wants to.  Eun Sang tries to control herself.  She expresses her gratitude instead for the accommodation.  The following morning, Eun Sang is fixing her things inside the maid’s quarter when her mom enters.
She gives her present to her mom and starts a nice discussion until she apologizes and starts crying for leaving her mom behind to go to the US.  After that moving scene with her mother, Cha Eun Sang is seen back to her usual routine in her part-time jobs.
Kim Tan, meanwhile, visits the places he went to with Eun Sang and even at home, he remembers her as he stares at the dreamcatcher.
Time has passed and Eun Sang managed to earn enough money to pay her debts to Chan Young who will be back in Korea in time for the school opening.
At the mansion, Madam Han is surprised when the Chairman asks her if Kim Tan’s is ready to come home.  Madam Han tries to call her son but Kim Tan, seated at a bench in his school, just stares at his phone.  Seems like he is pondering on something.
He says that he always imagined the people that would have been lonely around him and he hopes that for once his absence would make them lonely.
Imagining his family one by one, Kim Tan tells his father he wants to come home; to his mother, he misses her and to Won, he wants to believe that it has at least hurt his brother for sending him away cruelly.
Kim Tan is contemplating hard on something when he suddenly calls Secretary Yoon.
Then he proceeds to his teacher and submits his overdue essay, which says The One Who Wears The Crown Bears The Crown.  He makes a major decision that will change his life - to return and live in South Korea.
At the airport, Kim Tan is gets welcomed by Secretary Yoon Jae Ho who tells him that his father will be happy to see him while his mother has called the secretary four times already.
However, Kim Tan wants to see his brother Kim Won first.  At the Jeguk Empire, Kim Won is surprised to hear who his visitor is.  Then Kim Tan enters the room with Secretary Yoon behind him.
Kim Won asks Kim Tan how long is he visiting but the young man tells his brother that he is staying for good.  His brother reiterates about his presence but Kim Tan reasons out that wants to see his family.  He adds that the thing his brother fear will not happen.
Kim Won scolds him further saying what he fears is not the thing that Kim Tan will or not say but he wants him to stop messing around.  Kim Won adds that Kim Tan’s return means he lost the opportunity he gave him – that is for the chance of half-siblings to be on friendly terms.
Kim Won adds he can’t stop Kim Tan now that everyone is on his side.  Then Kim Won walks out leaving Kim Tan hurt.  Secretary Yoon tells Kim Tan he can’t take him home then follows Kim Won who orders him to find a hotel close the office where he can stay.
At the mansion, Kim Tan gets a warm hug from his mother who is so excited to see him.  When he greets his father, Chairman Kim tells him to sit down but did not even looked at him. Then a conversation occurs among the three. During this talk, Park Hee Nam enters the room to serve beverage.
The Chairman even asks about the house in the US.  Kim Tan describes it as too big, too bright in the day and too dark at night.  But the Chairman explains that the darkness will help the kid see the stars.  He was asked about school, but Kim Tan reveals he just played around.  Then the Chairman orders him to rest.  Kim Tan is happy to see his room again.  His mom follows him with a lot of questions.
But when Madam Han mentions Rachel visiting him, Kim Tan excuses himself saying he needs to take a shower and will talk about it later.  Madam Ae understands and tells another maid to leave as well.  The maid obeys and takes all the laundry when a piece of sock fell on the floor.  It is Eun Sang’s which she accidentally left hanging by the door in the guest room in the US Kim mansion.
Kim Tan picks up something in his bag.  When he raised it – it is the dream catcher – which was given to him by Eun Sang.  He hangs it by the window.  Eun Sang, meanwhile, takes a photo of her boarding pass and posts it saying just like there’s no way for me to prove that I was in my dream, to me the place is like that as well, was I really even there.
Little did these two love birds know that they are just few meters away from each other, both looking at the same star.
The following morning, Kim Tan is walking at the yard when he suddenly stops to check what he just saw – pairs of socks and a pair of red girl’s rubber shoes hanging on the clothesline.
The next day, he is eating his meal alone at the dining table when he sensed something.  Kim Tan suddenly stands up and enters the kitchen.  But a woman with a long hair just left the main kitchen.
One morning, Kim Tan is on his way back to his room after jogging when Eun Sang appears behind him and hide in one of the pillars so as not to get noticed.  Eun Sang finds out from her mom that it’s the second son but she did not see the face of the young man who just went upstairs.
The following morning, Park Hee Nam wakes up her daughter to say she needs to leave early and come back later in the night because the situation in the mansion is not good.  This is because the Chairman is in a bad mood since Kim Won has not come back home yet for several days. Myung Soo just alight from a taxi cab and tells Young Do that he will just wait for his dad to leave adding Young Do should just wait for him at a convenience store before the end of the street.
Myung Soo is fixing himself when the gate of their neighbor – the Kim mansion – opens.  Myung Soo is surprised to see Cha Eun Sang coming out.  He asks her if she is a new neighbor but Cha Eun Sang, who looks like sleep walking, ignores Myung Soo who wonders if Kim Tan’s family moved.  At the convenience store, Young Do just had his noodles heated.
While he waits, he sees Cha Eun Sang walking towards the store, buys a drink, pay it to the counter, settles beside him and drinks up her drink, walks out and sleeps in a table just outside the convenience store – with her eyes closed!  Choi Young Do is obviously amazed.
He sits in front of Cha Eun Sang and checks if she is sleeping.  He eats his noodles and looks contently watching the Cha Eun Sang sleep when two boisterous kids arguing over something arrive and stop beside Young Do.  Annoyed, Young Do scolds them for being noisy and tells them someone is sleeping but the two boys end up crying.  This wakes up Cha Eun Sang, who without opening wide her eyes, stands up and walks out.  Myung Soo arrives just in time.
Myung Soo asks what’s going on, Young Do tells him that the kids is picking up a fight on him bragging they have mothers.  When Myung Soo asks if his friend is hurt, Young Do says it is his heart as he looks at Eun Sang who is walking down the street.  Lee Bo Na is looking for her father in their broadcast company.  She asks a number of their guests if they have seen her father.  She even commends each group but her praises are for a different group, which shows she doesn’t know these Kpop stars.
When she reach the stage, she sees the MC played by Heechul who asks who she likes if its him or Kyunhyun.  Bo Na says its Chan Young.  Since the MC is on a microphone, Bo Na’s conversation with Heechul is heard all over the studio.  Then she receives a text from Chan Young.  Knowing Chan Young is in the US, Bo Na couldn’t help but look for her boyfriend at the studio.
Then she receives another text before she finally sees Chan Young waving at the bench.  Bo Na runs to him.  Bo Na learns that Chan Young arrives three hours ago.  His arrival was a secret to surprise his girlfriend. Missing one another, the young couple hugs each other and promises to leave together from now on.
Lee Bo Na is overwhelmed as she watches father and son prepares their sumptuous meal.  In the middle of their conversation, Secretary Yoon remembers that Chan Young met Kim Tan in LA.  Chan Young said Tan almost didn’t recognize him.
Bo Na asks if its Kim Tan but when Secretary Yoon asks if she knows him, she denies.  However, her boyfriend says she does.  But Bo Na insists she doesn’t know. Inside Myung Soo’s hang out place, Myung Soo asks Bo Na what’s wrong.
She tells her friend that Kim Tan and Chan Young met in the US and the latter will probably dump her.  However, she doesn’t know if Chan Young knows that he dated Kim Tan.
Kim Tan meanwhile is looking at his dream catcher in his room.  He checks his phone and sees the recent post of Cha Eun Sang in her social media account.  He then comments that he can attest that she was there.
Walking along yard, Eun Sang see Tan’s comment and questions him for not logging out in her account.  Leaving his room, Kim Tan is on his way out of the house as he replies to Eun Sang saying he will not log out.  He even teases asking if he finds her ethical when he is a drug dealer.
Then he asks her whereabouts and wonders if her kidneys are still healthy.  Eun Sang answers back saying her kidneys are healthy adding if Tan needs it, he should come and get it.  Tan, now wearing a smile, asks Eun Sang if she wants him to appear in front of her.
What makes this part is exciting is the idea that the two will open the same door.
Eun Sang is about to get inside the house while Tan is about to leave.  Then they opened the door – err, doors!  Apparently, the mansion has a number of doors and the two fated lovers missed each other in just a sec!  Tan left the house using the main door while Eun Sang enters the house using the door at the kitchen.
While walking, Kim Tan waits for Eun Sang’s reply when he sees Park Hee Nam carrying a bottle of wine and wearing a California shirt – the same shirt he and Eun Sang wore when they were stranded overnight. He nods as she walked past her.  Soon, Kim Tan turns to look back at the maid.  Madam Han, meanwhile, is wearing the cute socks of Eun Sang while following an instructional English reading material at the sala.
Eun Sang brings her cheese but Tan’s mother says it wasn't her who ordered it but Park Hee Nam who arrives with a bottle of wine.  Eun Sang notices the socks similar to hers being worn by Madam Han.  The latter now is telling Park Hee Nam she brought the wrong bottle.  Hearing all the unpleasant words by their madam, Eun Sang volunteers to get the wine for her starting now.  Madam Han agrees.  But Park Hee Nam stops her and tells her to study.  However, Eun Sang explains in sign language how can she study when she can’t even pay for her room before she grabs the bottle from her mother to get a new one.
Seeing the mansion’s wine storage for the first time, Eun Sang is amazed that even wines can live in luxury.  Meanwhile, Kim Tan gets impatient as she waits for Eun Sang’s reply.  Unknown to him, Eun Sang is on her way back from the cellar.
Then he suddenly turns around and sees someone getting inside by the kitchen door.  He wonders who the person may be.  When he gets inside the house, he raises his mobile phone hoping to get a good signal probably not to miss any reply from Eun Sang.
He stops as he sees again the lady he saw earlier.  This time, the girl has just closed the door behind her from the dining area.  Kim Tan has not seen her face, just her hair and back.  Then she asks his mom is she has some sleep paralysis because he often sees the back of a girl with a long hair.
Madam Han says it is the daughter of the housekeeper who is living with them.  She adds she is the same age as Kim Tan and her name is Cha Eun Sang.  Hearing this, Kim Tan’s attention is now 100% to his mother.
Madam Han adds that she ordered Eun Sang to live in the house like a ghost.  Kim Tan asks why does she live here, his mom explains that they used their house deposit for the eldest daughter’s wedding.
Kim Tan is totally bewildered.  Back in his room, Kim Tan is walking back and forth as he recalls the fight between Eun Sang and Eun Seok at the Malibu beach.
He then checks his phone and opens Eun Sang’s account where he finds the young woman’s post about she hates that her mom is having a hard time and hopes that the Empire Group will collapse.
He sends a message to Eun Sang to find out what is she doing and to immediately reply.  Impatient, Kim Tan taps his phone several to refresh until he gets a reply from Eun Sang.  She is drinking water.  He runs towards the kitchen to see for himself if the person it is indeed Eun Sang who is living in the mansion.  He was at the door by the dirty kitchen.
He musters all his courage to find out who is in the kitchen drinking water.  He slowly opens the door and there he sees the woman who has stirred his heart – Cha Eun Sang.
