The Heirs/Inheritors Episode 3

Kim Tan and Cha Eun Sang are inside the cinema.  They are hiding from two gangsters who were running after them for still unknown reason.  Kim Tan is sleeping while Cha Eun Sang tries to watch the movie being shown. Cha Eun Sang wonders what the characters are saying.  She couldn’t comprehend completely the lines of the characters in the movie.
Then Kim Tan, whose eyes are still closed, suddenly translates the lines of the movie characters.Cha Eun Sa ng is a little surprised that Kim Tan is not sleeping though his head is resting and his eyes are closed.  Kim Tan talks further but these lines are no longer included in the movie.
He wakes up,  straightens up and says some lines as if it’s still part of the movie. He says he met a woman the previous day and her name is Cha Eun Sang.  Bewildered Eun Sang asks how did he learn about her name.  But Kim Tan continues saying he is curious about Cha Eun Sang.
Then Kim Tan looks at Cha Eun Sang and asks “perhaps, do I like her?” Cha Eun Sang pauses for a time as if absorbing what was revealed to her. Then she replies “maybe not” because Kim Tan is already engaged.
The wealthy guy answers “nevertheless” making Eun Sang think that it only happens in the movies.  But Kim Tan reveals they are in Hollywood anyway and it happens in real life.  Cha Eun Sang cannot believe that they are in Hollywood.  Next scene, Kim Tan and Cha Eun Sang are outside the street.  Eun Sang is so happy to see the Hollywood sign she used to see in movies!
But Kim Tan continues that what he said in the theater is cooler than the Hollywood landmark.  Eun Sang adds that before she went to America, she wants to see this Hollywood mark.  Feeling he is being ignored, Kim Tan asks if he is just talking to himself. But Eun Sang replies the landmark may look close but is really far. Kim Tan exclaims it is really far and then stops.
He probably realized that what they are discussing is not just the landmark but him. Kim Tan immediately changes the topic.  He tells Eun Sang to wash up at home.  He will get the car so he could take her to the Hollywood landmark.  Eun Sang declines saying she is not going saying Kim Tan has done a lot for her already.  She wants to go home so she could get her suitcase.  Then she asks the way to his home as she points to different directions.
Without a word, Kim Tan walks away.  Eun Sang follows.  At home, Kim Tan is looking at her suitcase left earlier at the entrance.  Eun Sang takes her luggage and approaches Kim Tan.  She apologizes as she will trouble him again to check if there is comment from her friend.  Kim Tan just stares at her.  Feeling uneasy, Eun Sang thank Kim Tan then bids farewell.  But before she could even take a step, Kim Tan grabs her suitcase and enters the house.
When Kim Tan checks his phone he left in the sofa.  He is reading Yoon Cha Young’s reply to Eun Sang’s message.  Cha Eun Sang slowly follows Kim Tan and asks for her suitcase.  Instead of telling her about Cha Young’s message, Kim Tan asks why the luggage is broken.
But Eun Sang just asks where it is, Kim Tan says the luggage is in his room.  Seeing Eun Sang will try to get it, Kim walks past Eun Sang saying he will take a shower. Eun Sang can get it if she wants to.  Kim Tan stops in the middle of the stairs and turns to Eun Sang.  He wants her to stay in his house until his friend leaves a comment.
In his room, Kim Tan sees an elegantly framed engagement photo of him and Yoo Rachel with a note from his fiancé inviting him to dinner after she ate lunch alone.  Then he receives a call from Secretary Yoon regarding an event that his father wants him to attend to in the afternoon.
His brother, Won, will be there.  When Kim Tan asks if his brother knows he is coming and if he wants him there, the secretary says it’s for him to find out.  He just needs to relay the message of Chairman Kim.  Hearing this, Kim Tan sits with a beleaguered expression.  In Seoul, Lee Bo Na sees Secretary Yoon.  She runs towards him after calling him father.  But the secretary wants her to call him Mr.  However, the young lady insists.  The lady even complained about Cha Young not being able to communicate with her.  She thinks he is cheating on her.  When Secretary Yoon says his son is a jerk, Lee Bo Na scolds him.  The secretary tells Lee Bo Na that Cha Young likes girls too.  But the student believes girls like her bf first.  Bo Na adds just like Cha Eun Sang whom she hates so Secretary should not be nice to her, too.  Then off she goes to their studio where she finds two female students offering food to Hyo Shin.  She gets annoyed because the two did not greet her properly.  The students claim they prepared the food themselves but seeing their presents, Lee Bo Na tells where the girls brought the food.  Then Lee Bo Na even has a short spat with one of the admirers of Hyo Shin to the point that they boast off the positions of their fathers in the society leading the girls to leave.  Lee Bo Na learns that the presents are for the 100th day before Hyo Shin’s exams.  Then Hyo Shin tells Bo Na to sit down as he explains that the director has quit because his family probably discovered he is part of the journalism team where they all belong.  It seems such organization is not a legal matter to most parents of these wealthy kids maybe because it is not included in their training or educations as heirs.  Lee Bo Na tells Hyo Shin he really hid well his broadcasting activities from his parents.  But Hyo Shin says he is not sure if its him or it is his parents who are hiding it well.   Lee Bo Na asks what is the medicine he just took?  Hyo Shin says its vitamins and Bo Na will need it next year adding his body is not the same as it was when he was younger.
Back in the US, Kim Tan is all dressed-up.  Eun Sang asks what is the bag he is carrying for?  He tells him to go to Hollywood next time because he needs to go somewhere.  He tells her no stay in the house.  But Eun Sang tells him that she needs to go because she already gave him enough trouble.  Kim Tan gets pissed because Eun Sang always says she needs to go when she doesn’t even have a place to go.  He scolds Eun Sang telling her never to talk about leaving again or he would sell her!
Before Eun Sang could response to Kim Tan, Jay, the latter’s American friend who confused the bean powder to drugs, arrives.  He immediately runs upon seeing his ‘angel’ Eun Sang.  This prompted Kim Tan to block Jay on his way down to the sala saying things about their friends but Jay says it’s okay and it has been taken cared of.
After asking where Kim Tan is going, Jay runs towards Eun Sang.  He even put his arms around her and is happy that his sweet angel is staying with him! Then Kim Tan asks Eun Sang if she gets car sick?  Next thing you know,   Kim Tan is driving his red convertible Maserati with Cha Eun Sang!
Eun Sang asks where they are going but Kim Tan tells her to sleep if she is tired because it’s going to take a while.  Along the way, the two are trying to get a glimpse of each other.

Back in Seoul, Kim Tan’s mother is talking to her friend who tells her of her advantage for bearing a son as the second wife refuses to get a divorce.  The friend, who tells she should set up her rival of committing infidelity, provides Madam Han a number.  Madam Han enters the wine cellar as she talks on the phone telling someone to have an affair with Chairman Kim’s second wife, Jung Ji Sook, when she sees Park Hee Nam, Cha Eun Sang’s mom!
Madam Han tells the maid she should have made her presence felt but the maid tells her master that she was loud plus Madam should have tried using a prepaid phone instead of her line.

Kim Tan and Eun Sang, who is asleep, arrive in their destination.
A ranch.  Kim Tan tells Eun Sang he’ll be back as he hands her the car keys.  She asks how long it will take, Kim Tan tells her he might get kicked in just five minutes or booted out later than that.  He tells her to look around if she is bored but warns her to watch for the coldest looking person.
He did not answer Eun Sang who it is as he walks towards his assignment – to assist his brother in a gathering in this ranch.
Kim Tan walks towards the gathering.  He pauses for a while obviously trying to muster some courage before he completely makes his presence known.
Kim Won is having a good conversation when one of the businessmen notices a guy standing on the tree.  When Kim Won turns around, he sees a good-looking Kim Tan smiling shyly at him.
Kim Won’s good mood disappears in a blink.  He excuses himself from the rest and walks past Kim Tan as he orders his younger brother to follow him.   Cha Eun Sang is checking the area.
She stops to pick up some fruits from the tree.  Not far from her, she sees Kim Tan and another guy stops to talk.  Kim Tan tells his brother it’s been a long time but Kim Won is cold asking if it was Secretary Yoon who told Tan about the gathering. Kim Won tells Tan doesn’t realize what this means.
Tan, who hopes to get a warm response from his brother, says it has been three years, he got even taller.  But a colder Won presented himself.    He belittles Tan adding his younger brother should stop as he already done more than he deserves.  Before he walks out,  Won orders Tan to leave.
Hearing all these from someone he looks up to, the happy-go-lucky guy Tan turned speechless.  Won’s discouraging words and harsh treatment left Tan hurt and scarred.  Tan was left standing in the middle of the orchard.  Unknown to him, Cha Eun Sang witnessed everything.
Eun Sang, initially, is hesitating to approach Tan who remains still standing and staring at the ground.  Even when the sprinkler rained on them, Tan didn’t move.  Finally, Cha Eun Sang had the courage to get closer to Tan.  An emotional, teary-eyed Tan looks at her.  When she asks him if he is okay, Tan is honest enough to say he is not.
Eun Sang is concerned that he is going to get wet but Tan seems to be vent his anger and suppressed emotions to Eun Sang when he asks why was she eavesdropping.  Cha Eun Sang explains that she was planning to run with Tan on the count of three if he was in danger.  Tan’s reply struck Eun Sang. He asks why she didn’t do it, he was in danger the whole time she was watching.
Then Tan leaves.  This time it is Eun Sang who was left speechless.  On their way back, Eun Sang keeps staring at Tan whose eyes are glued on the road.
Then Tan asks what, Eun Sang says it is unusually quiet and asks the young man if it’s okay to turn the radio on.   Instead, Tan sighs before telling Eun Sang to forget what she witnessed earlier. Eun Sang says she is going to even if Tan didn’t tell her.
Tan looks at her as she adds that everything is just a dream, a one summer night’s dream.  Tan seems to be bothered by what Eun Sang just stated.  When his eyes returned on the road, he sees a huge rock several meters blocking their path prompting him to swerve on the right and hit the roadside. Unfortunately, the car gets stuck.  He tells Eun Sang to stay in the car.
They will be in trouble when the sun goes down.  Tan alights from the car to check for any damage.  Eun Sang, on the other hand, thinks it is like a scene in a horror movie.  Tan calls for help but there was no signal in the area.  Since the car is stuck, Tan asks if Eun Sang can drive.  Then the answer is revealed.  Eun Sang doesn’t know how to drive so she pushes the car while Tan is on the steering wheel.  The two are trying hard when the car totally breaks down!
Tan tells Eun Sang they will give up the car at the moment so she should get important things in her bag like her passport. Eun Sang says it’s all in her backpack and asks why.  Tan explains that they need to find shelter before the sun goes down and it’s the only way to seek for help.  But a horror movie fan who sounds paranoid believes people die when they go to the wrong places in the movies.
She even mentioned titles of thriller films. Tan tells her she can stay but Eun Sang pleads she'll go with him adding the person who stays alone dies.  Tan asks so they now the ending already, however, Eun Sang quips one has to survive for the sequel! This funny behavior of Eun Sang just made Tan smile as the young lady walks past him.
Tan and Eun Sang are just the two living souls on the road.  Eun Sang tells Tan that she is hungry and asks Kim Tan if he knows the way.  Tan says there is no other way but the young lady thinks it could be the opposite direction.  Tan says he saw a house on the way.  Then Eun Sang remembers she bought a food earlier.
She reveals that she bought two because the other one is for her mother.  She offered the food to Tan who tells him not to spend lavishly.  Then Tan is asking regarding the guy she asks help from when Eun Sang excitedly butts in and asks if her friend already left a comment.  But Tan glares at her saying his question is not finish yet. This folds Eun Sang’s excitement telling him to finish his question.  Tan wants to find out what is Eun Sang going to do when she sees her friend?  Cha Eun Sang shares she will borrow money first since her sister stole all her money and she doesn’t have money for the plane ticket.
Tan says he can lend her money.  But Eun Sang retorts that with her kidney as security, she doesn’t have courage for that.  Tan says she should try but Eun Sang asks if he trusts her.  Tan stops and continue walking.  He reveals Yoon Cha Young left a comment making Eun Sang blurts out questions when, why is he telling him now and if there is an internet around.  She asks for his phone but Tan says there is no reception in the area.  Then the two discovers a motel nearby.
Tan is dealing with the manager to get the car immediately but the manager explains they are closed for the night.  He offers that if Tan and Eun Sang will stay overnight, he will book the tow.  Tan asks the manager to give him a minute.  He then looks at Eun Sang who is checking the store while he makes a deal with the manager.  Next thing you know, Eun Sang came from the bathroom as she tried to fix her dirty shirt.
Then Tan enters the room and throws a shirt to her.
He says he brought it from the souvenir shop because he can’t sleep wearing long sleeves. Then Tan starts to undress making Eun Sang to turn around so she could not see what the man behind her is doing.
She tells aloud if Tan thinks they are a couple in a motel but Tan tells her to dream about it.  As soon as he has changed, he tells Eun Sang to change immediately and come out so they can have dinner.
When Tan left the room, Eun Sang regrets not looking at him while dressing.  At the bar, the manager gives them their dinner and commends the two that the shirt looks good on them. Tan explains their food is the only thing the motel could offer because its past their hour.  Eun Sang says it is more than enough.
Eun Sang gets amazed seeing some bottle of liquor displayed on the bar.  Tan asks if she drinks then Eun Sang teases him saying haven’t Tan seen her hands shaking.  Tan commends her saying she is cute, Eun Sang says she knows with a big smile on her face.
While Eun Sang eats her dinner, Tan stares at her intently.  When Eun  Sang noticed, she tells Tan to stop or she will ask him awkward questions.  But the wealthy guy doesn’t seem to be bothered by this as he unveils a possible question she might ask like who was the man with him at the ranch.  Eun Sang confirms.  Tan replies that he is the person he likes most in the world.   Hearing this, Eun Sang seems to misunderstand and gets a surprised, puzzled reaction.  When Tan asks if she has anymore questions, she was about to ask something but tells him to ignore it.  Street smart Tan seems to know what Eun Sang is thinking saying it is okay to insult him but not his brother.
This clarifies everything.  Eun Sang chuckles because her thoughts are incorrect.  She leans forward a little to Tan and was about to say something when Tan raises his voice to stop what she was about to say!  Tan’s reaction surprises Eun Sang making her lose her balance.
Tan is quick to catch her from falling.  Their eyes end up staring at each other while Tan’s arms supporting Eun Sang. This is the closest they get so far and the attraction they have for each other is brewing. Tan tells her she is dummy because she could have gotten hurt.  Eun Sang blames him that it was his fault because she was just joking.
Tan notice that Eun Sang is blushing adding she has a dirty mind.  Tan chortles as Eun Sang denies it.   Eun Sang makes an excuse saying the reason is because she couldn’t even eat a pancake in America.  Tan gets curious and asks why pancake.  Showing that she is an avid fan of Hollywood movies, Eun Sang says in American films characters eat pancakes with syrup paired with an orange juice.  She adds that looks American to her.  Tan says it’s a cliché but tells Eun Sang there is a good pancake place on Melrose.  He invites her to go there when they return to LA.  But Eun Sang tells him not to make any promises because the person who makes a promise dies – of course, she is referring to flicks.  Then she tells him to just ignore what she said as things might get scarier.  But Tan says Eun Sang is scarier. Later,  Eun Sang is preparing her bed when Tan enters the room.  He tells her she will use the bed.  He gets surprised to hear a positive response that she is glad to sleep on the couch. Tan asks how she could be so positive when it was him that brought them into such situation.  Eun Sang clarifies it’s not because of him but because of the fallen rocks.  Tan did not argue anymore.  She sees Eun Sang already asleep.  Finding it unbelievable, Tan asks if she is asleep. No response. He asks again. Still, no reaction.  He tries to get closer and makes some noise.  He sees that Eun Sang is pretending to be sleeping.  He sits close to her saying she is bad in acting.  He tells her to wake up because he has something to ask.  When Eun Sang didn’t budge in, Tan threatens her.  Eun Sang wakes up in a snap asking what does Tan wants.  Tan is curious why she wants Jeguk group to go bankrupt.  Eun Sang asks if he read her SNS.  Tan reminds her that she logged in for him.  Eun Sang asks why was he checking it and orders him to log out before she goes crazy.  Kim Tan asks again if she wants the company to go bankrupt.  Cha Eun Sang asks why Tan cares about it adding if he has Jeguk shares.  Wanting to keep his identity from her, Tan tells Eun Sang to just ignore it but orders her to watch him first until he falls asleep.
Tan  explains he is scared because Eun Sang kept talking about horror movies earlier.  He adds that she should sleep after he falls asleep because that is her payment for the room.  Eun Sang says that she gets involved because of Tan but the young man reiterates what she said earlier that it was because of fallen rocks.  Already in bed with his eyes closed, Tan tells Eun Sang to just look at him without entertaining any dirty thoughts.  Eun Sang says Tan is not her type at all.  Tan just laughs off and tells Eun Sang it takes a while before he sleeps.  Eun Sang begs she should go to bed first.  Tan says he has a lot of thoughts while Eun Sang answers she sleeps a lot.
After a few minutes, Tan asks Eun Sang if she is going back to Korea after she meets her friend.  Eun Sang says as soon as possible.  Tan is saying something but when he turned to Eun Sang, he sees the girl asleep while sitting up.  He stares at her for awhile then gets off the bed.  As soon as he stands up, he sees Eun Sang falling.  He quickly catches her particularly her head which might have accidentally hit the arm chair had he not arrive on time.
Soon, he pulls the pillow underneath his arm and helps Eun Sang rest properly.  He even covered her with a blanket. Then Tan stares at the sleeping beauty of Eun Sang all he wants. The following day, Yoo Rachel receives a thank you text message from Chan Young.  Yoo Rachel speaks her thoughts aloud saying Cha Young should take away Eun Sang soon.
Meanwhile, Kim Tan and Cha Eun Sang - wearing their California souvenir shirt that looks like a couple shirt - are back in Tan’s house.  Before they alight, Eun Sang wants to check Tan’s mobile phone but the young man discreetly refuse by telling her that she should have a place to stay before she meets her friend.  The two just get off the car when someone calls Cha Eun Sang.
It is Yoon Chan Young.  Seeing a very familiar face, Eun Sang runs towards Chan Young.  As usual, Eun Sang’s typical side of blurting out a series of questions is on.  Same for Chan Young.   Both are asking each other what happened to them.
Chan Young even tells his friend that he is worried about her.  Hearing this, Kim Tan couldn’t help but react.
Eun Sang apologizes to Chan Young saying she will explain later.  Eun Sang is relieved and extremely happy but it’s a different story for Kim Tan who throws his jacket in car when he heard Eun Sang’s excitement of meeting her friend.
Eun Sang tries to stop her but Tan tells her that it is hot and she can tell it to him inside.  Chan Young asks who is the guy, wonders why they are wearing the same shirt and what is the place.  But Eun Sang invites her to get inside to say goodbye first before she explains.
Kim Tan enters from the kitchen carrying a can of juice as Eun Sang is on the stairs.  The two meet at the foot of the stairs near the sala and right beside the door where the dream catcher Eun Sang gave to Kim Tan hangs by the door.  Kim Tan is looking sternly at Cha Eun Sang as he drinks his beverage.  Cha Eun Sang thanks Kim Tan for everything.  She bids her farewell saying she is going to her friend’s place now.
He asks why.  He adds Eun Sang can just borrow money from her friend and stay in Tan’s home.  He asks why does she have to go but Eun Sang explains she has no reason to stay.  Obviously Kim Tan is trying to haggle for Eun Sang to stay.  He tells her that staying at his place is the rightful compensation Eun Sang deserves after what happened – Eun Sang had to go to the police station because of his friend Jay and then the police confiscated her passport because of him causing her trouble in booking her flight back to Korea or even in a hotel.  Eun Sang couldn’t believe what she just heard. Kim Tan tells her not to go.
Chan Young joins them and asks if there is a problem.  Kim Tan asks what if there is.  However,  Eun Sang meddles and tells her friend there’s no problem.  Eun Sang tells Kim Tan that even if everything he revealed is true, she is thankful for everything he has done for her and she has her passport back.  Then Chan Young asks if the man in front of him is Kim Tan.  The heir asks if Chan Young knows him but Eun Sang’s friend says Tan knows him.  Then Kim Tan asks who he is.  Getting a little awkward in front of Eun Sang, Kim Tan adds if by any chance he bullied Chan Young in middle school.  Chan Young gives a vague answer saying it is not that simple.  Then he tells the young lady it’s time to go now because the cab has arrived.  Eun Sang bids her farewell.  Kim Tan couldn’t push further for what he wants.  He just looks sad as he watches the lady who stirred his heart walk away.
When they reached Chan Young’s place, the young man wants to confirm if Eun Sang stayed in Kim Tan’s house since she arrived in the US.  Eun Sang explains she had no choice because she had no money, no passport and there’s no one in her sister’s house. Eun Sang clarifies if the name of the guy she was with is Kim Tan.  This surprised Chan Young but Eun Sang explains that she doesn’t want to reveal her identity to him that’s why she didn’t bother finding out the identity of the man who helped her.
She asks if Kim Tan is a bad guy and if he bullied Chan Young but the latter claims he just know his name but stress that he is not a nice guy.  The childhood friends are now in Chan Young’s place catching up with what they missed.   Chan Young asks about Eun Seok but Eun Sang says she ran away.  Eun Sang is worried what will she tell her mom.  Chan Young consoles her telling her not to worry about the ticket.  Eun Sang appreciates the help.  She vows to pay him when she gets back but Chan Young advises him to slow down.
According to him, there’s one thing she needs to do – to eat.  When Chan Young asks what she wants for dinner, Eun Sang says its deokbokki.  Chan Young tours his friend around the Universal City Walk.  Enjoying the view, Eun Sang tells Chan Young to have a picture taking. Chan Young posts their photo on his SNS.
Then he tells his friend that he wants to show something funny to Eun Sang.  He asks her to count to three and voila! His girlfriend, Lee Bo Na, is calling! Chan Young finds it cute that his girlfriend is calling him immediately while Eun Sang asks if he wants Lee Bona to pull her hair out.  Chan Young jokingly answers it should be fun.
Then he excuses himself as he answers the phone.  When Eun Sang turns to look around, she sees something that reminds her of Kim Tan – the souvenir shirt.
Meanwhile, Kim Tan is in the house all alone and lonely.  He tries to study but when he checks Eun Sang’s SNS, he sees the photo of Eun Sang and Chan Young having fun at the City Walk.
Initially, he ignores it pretending it doesn’t affect him.  But after a few seconds, he couldn’t concentrate on what he is reading as he utter his great annoyance over what he just saw.
He goes to bed.  Looking at a photo on the bedside table, reality has dawned on him.  He is looking at the photo – his engagement photo – as he will celebrate his anniversary the following day.
Yoo Rachel is brooding again.  She is about to leave the hotel for Korea when she receives a phone call from Kim Tan.  Pretending she is not happy, she asks Kim Tan why did he call.  He asks her where she is.  He reminds her that it is time for her to prepare for Korea. She tells Kim Tan she is already in Korea but the young man who appeared on the side of the lobby tells her to return to America.
Yoo Rachel tells her butler to return all her luggage to the room and rebook her flight because Kim Tan will only meet her today.  Before she could even make a move, she gets a call from her mother to whom she brags that Kim Tan has dressed up and came to see her.
Her mother says she will not tell people that she went to the US because she misses Kim Tan but it’s because he asked her to come.  Before she could get the reason why, Rachel’s mom hang up as her future mother-in law has arrived.
Yoo Rachel’s mom and Kim Tan’s registered mom, the second wife, meet early morning in a hotel.  The real reason Rachel’s mom has asked for the meeting is to tell her in laws about her upcoming marriage. Jeguk High’s Chairwoman says she heard it will be with President Choi Dong Woo of Hotel Zeus.  The Chairwoman says Choi’s son is their student, Choi Young Do.  Then Rachel’s mom asks what happened between Youngdo and Tan whom she heard are no longer friends anymore. The Chairwoman explains that they were bestfriends until Kim Tan went to America.
Meanwhile, Myung Soong is complaining because Youngdo just entered his room at a decisive moment and ruined the films.  He adds he could have been the next Henry Cartier-Bresson.  Youngdo, who is holding a tennis ball in a chair, recites “I spent my entire life trying to capture the decisive moment,” before looking at a picture of two smiling younger boys whose arms are on each other’s back while holding a popsicle. “But every moment in life was the decisive moment,” he continued.  When Myung Soong asks what Youngdo is saying, the latter says it is a popular quote from Henry Cartier-Bresson.
The two are having a nice conversation when Youngdo receives a call from his father.  Soon, Youngdo is being thrown on the mat left and right.  He is facing the hardest and heaviest enemy in the mat- his dad.  President Choi has ordered his son for a Taekwondo match as part of his punishment.  President Choi is mad that Youngdo couldn’t even do things right and made a manager complaint about him.  His father tells him why he always loses.  His father boasts Youngdo has never defeated him.
Youngdo reasons out that it is because he is like his mom when he should have been like his father.  He bows out but before he could walk away, President Choi adds Youngdo attacks excessively in and out of the mat.  As his father leaves, Youngdo was ordered to fetch his soon to be stepsister.

In the US, Rachel thanks Kim Tan for accompanying her.  She said what Tan gave her is not material but his time as she go shopping.  However, Kim Tan says he would rather help with her shopping because doing beyond that would mean they are dating.
This pissed Rachel.  She asks if Eun Sang already left.  Annoyed Kim Tan confirms and retorts that it happened according how Rachel planned since she gave away his address.  Then Rachel concedes and tells Kim Tan not to talk about it.  Still mad, Kim Tan snaps it was her who raised the subject. Rachel gets saved as her phone rings.
It’s Youngdo. He is furious on the other line.  He is asking Rachel if she is a kid adding it doesn’t matter to him whether she changes her schedule or stay in America as long as she make sure he will not pick her up.  Then he hung up the phone.  Rachel is infuriated that she vents her irritation on Kim Tan asking him if he knows Youngdo will be his stepbrother.
Kim Tan knows.  Then he asks how Youngdo is doing.  Rachel explains he is fine just doing all the stuff that he and Kim Tan used to do together.  Rachel is so annoyed that Choi Young Do ruined their anniversary. Then she invites Kim Tan to eat in his favorite pancake place on Melrose.  Kim Tan refuses as he remembers his conversation with Eun Sang when they were in a diner.  Eun Sang wants to have pancakes with syrup and orange juice like in American movies.  He said it sounds cliché but promises to bring Eun Sang in his favorite pancake house when they return to LA.
Kim Tan pushes Rachel to go somewhere else because he believes Eun Sang might be there.  When Rachel realize who Kim Tan is referring to, she laugh it off asking if her fiancé has premonition or something because LA is bigger than Seoul so it is impossible for him and Eun Sang to meet again in that restaurant.  Kim Tan says it’s just a hunch besides they can’t get a table there without a reservation at this time. Kim Tan tells Rachel again to find another restaurant to eat but the bratty girl insists. The engaged couple checks the pancake restaurant.
When they reached the entrance, Kim Tan stops.  His time slows down as he sees Cha Eun Sang in her pink clothes, smiling lovingly to her friend seated across the table.  Yoo Rachel follows Kim Tan’s gaze and sees the woman who stirs the heart of her man.
Meanwhile, Eun Sang teases Chan Young that he is like an American who reserves tables.  Chan Young explains it is the basic but wonders how Eun Sang knows about the place.  When asked if she searched for it online, Eun Sang gives him a vague answer.
Her smile slowly fades and her time slowly freezes when her eyes lock with that of Kim Tan’s.
As usual, the antagonist of the hour Yoo Rachel breaks the magic spell as she accuse that Kim Tan has told Eun Sang to come.  Rachel’s jealousy gets more ignited especially when Kim Tan asks them to leave.  When she refused, he says he is trying to be somewhat decent for you. The argument continues as Rachel insists to stay but Kim Tan tries to give her reasons that they shouldn’t like there is no table.  But Rachel finds a way to have a table because she wants to know if this is coincidence or fate between Kim Tan and Cha Eun Sang. By this time, both Eun Sang and Chan Young are watching the couple.  Rachel storms towards their table.  She immediately identifies Chan Young as the White Hacker Yoon whom she got in touched with.  She declares that she will sit and they will pay the bill.  Obviously confused, Kim Tan stands apprehensively at the entrance. It took him sometime before he could reach the table. When Rachel is seated, Eun Sang asks if Rachel and Chan Young know each other to which the latter replies that they go to the same school but are not friends and this is the first time they are talking.
Looking at Eun Sang,  the heir explains this is because Chan Young belongs to a lower class so she never talked to him.  It was only by this time that Kim Tan has reached the table demanding Rachel to stand up. Rachel stress that they are currently celebrating their engagement anniversary.  More so, she orders Kim Tan around saying he can now have the pancake he so much likes. Kim Tan agrees to have it. He sits down across Rachel and adjacent to Eun Sang.  As soon as Kim Tan is on his chair, Rachel fires up away her questions.
She asks how Cha Eun Sang and Yoo Chan Young knew each other.  Chan Young replies that they are childhood friends.  Rachel continues her investigation.  She asks why they chose the restaurant and gives a possible reason that the place is famous. But Chan Young’s answer startled Rachel.  Chan Young said Eun Sang wanted to come to the restaurant.
Hearing this, Kim Tan couldn’t help but glance at Eun Sang, who tries hard not to look at  Kim Tan eye to eye.  Rachel tries to sound surprise by saying what a coincidence it is but her tone changes when she says that the her fiancé and Eun Sang think the situation is some kind of fate. Knowing what she is up to, Kim Tan reminds her she wanted to eat pancakes and tells her to stop.  Rachel stress nobody is talking.  She then creates another awkward situation by introducing Kim Tan as the ex-boyfriend of Lee Bo Na to her current boyfriend, Chan Young.  This irks Chan Young asking why Rachel has to include people who are not present.  Rachel blames Chan Young asking what he is doing with Eun Sang and not with Lee Bo Na.  But instead of hearing him out, Rachel, who holds the spotlight now, turns to Eun Sang.  She blames Eun Sang for seeing guys with a girlfriend or a fiancé.  Eun Sang is puzzled that Rachel is now looking at her.  Both men find it uncalled for.  Kim Tan stands up and excused them.  He drags Rachel out. Eun Sang remains silent as if absorbing just what happened.  Her friend Chan Young asks her if she wants him to get involved or just pretend he didn’t see anything.  Eun Sang tells her friend to order so they can eat and buy the plane ticket.  Chan Young tells him to stay for a few more days since she came all the way in America.  She explains she must go because her mom needs her. She adds she needs to work so she can pay him back. Chan Young reiterates that Eun Sang can take her time.
Meanwhile, Kim Tan confronts Yoo Rachel for her misbehavior.  He tells her that he is so amazed when they were ten for knowing someone who could talk in English and Japanese.  He adds Yoo Rachel like Kim Won when they were 14 and that the lady stressed she couldn’t like Kim Tan because he’s a baby.  He stressed that for eight years, Yoo Rachel were always the smartest person to him, pretty and mature.  However, Kim Tan finds her hard to bear right now reminding her that he is not worthy for Yoo Rachel to ruin herself because of him.  Before he walks out, he tells Yoo Rachel that he will pick him up at the hotel to send her to the airport. At the hotel, Yoo Rachel crosses paths with Kim Won. The two are surprised to see each other.  They ask each other if they had met Kim Tan and answer in almost evasive manner.  Yoo Rachel asks Kim Won if he is going somewhere and suggests if she could join him.  She is not going to do anything in her hotel room.
Kim Won brings her to a memorial park.  She asks who they are visiting; Kim Won explains the person was his mother.  He tells Yoo Rachel about how her mother joined the Kim family and later left the household because of her suffocating in laws.  He describes that Korea is a hell for a country girl from the US. More so he admits that his mother created a wine and named it after him, which can be found at the cellar of the Kim mansion.   For revealing his secrets, Kim Won tells Rachel to treat it as if she had read his diary.  Yoo Rachel feels proud when she learned she is the first person he brought with him in his mother’s grave.  Yoo Rachel adds Kim Tan will be jealous of her.
Kim Won receives a call from Secretary Yoon.  He advises to tell his father that he will still be away for a few days and will be stopping by Singapore.  He mocks the Secretary thanking him that he sees Tan adding the secretary ensures to tell Tan about his schedule again.  Secretary Yoon, who is about to enter an elevator in Zeus, assures Won that he was just following orders and interfering in Won’s personal schedule is not part of it.  Before the door of the elevator closes, President Choi and Esther Lee enter the elevator.  The engaged couple is talking about Choi Young Do going to the airport to fetch Yoo Rachel.  President Choi gets off the elevator first.  As soon as the elevator closes, the fashion designer turns to greet Secretary Yoon.  The woman sounds like teasing the secretary that he is not the one that she is still going to marry.  The conversation reveals the two have something in the past.  More so, when the secretary left the elevator, the chairwoman tells him that it is strange because her heart still flutters for him.  Obviously controlling his emotions, Yoon Jae Ho dares Esther Lee to tell it to him after her wedding.  Jae Ho seems to be shocked as he keeps standing in the hallway when he receives a call from Kim Tan who is asking for his brother’s whereabouts.  After telling Kim Won’s possible whereabouts, Jae Ho asks Kim Tan that he heard he met his son.
Kim Tan remembers Yoon Chan Young. Soon, the young heir is calling the secretary’s son.  He called Chan Young to talk to Eun Sang, who at that time is buying plane tickets.  Chan Young asks  Kim Tan any message he should relay but the stubborn heir wants to talk to Eun Sang saying he will tell her himself whatever he wants to says.
When Eun Sang returns, Chan Young tells his friend about the call and even offers the phone so she could call him.  But Eun Sang controls herself and denied herself the happiness she wants.  She ignores it and never returned call to Kim Tan, who, at the same time, is patiently waiting for her call.
His mood changes when he sees a pair of cute socks of Eun Sang hanging by the door knob.  The following day, Cha Eun Sang, along with her luggage, visits the Redland School and leaves a note in the bulletin board.
The note says “It was like a midsummer night’s dream. It’s time for me to disappear now. Like the dream last night. Farewell.”  Meanwhile, at the hotel, Kim Tan waits for Yoo Rachel.  He tells her to hurry because they don’t have enough time after her shopping. Yoo Rachel rejects him but Kim Tan tells his fiancé to bear with it and at least he is handsome.
At the airport, Kim Tan is gentleman enough to tell his fiancé to text him when he arrives in Seoul.  Yoo Rachel asks if he is planning to come back to Korea but Kim Tan explains he has plans but don’t have the courage. He says he needs rash boldness to make him go back to Korea.
Kim Tan tells Yoo Rachel to go ahead but instead, his fiancé hugs him saying she has not forgiven him yet.  Kim Tan was about to hug his fiancé back but changes his mind the last minute.
Enter Cha Eun Sang with her luggage in tow.  She stops in the middle of the lobby after seeing the engaged couple.  After a few, almost-forever-like seconds, Cha Eun Sang turns her back and was on her way out when Kim Tan sees her and tells her to stop!
