GU FAMILY BOOK (EPISODE 6)

This episode opens with a flashback.  Young Kang Chi is on his knees with a bloody face. Beside him are his friends whom he had beaten up and they are all facing Park Moo Sol.
Park Moo Sol asks why he did it; Kang Chi replied they were teasing him that he is an abandoned child found in the river.  He admitted to Park Moo Sol that he is ashamed of it.
But Park Moo Sol tells Choi Kang Chi that if he were not abandoned, they will never meet. He stressed that in his heart Kang Chi is also his son.

Grief wraps the entire Hundred Year Inn as the head of the family Park Moo Sol gets killed while trying to save Choi Kang Chi. He was stripped off with his title after he was accused of treason.  The entire household is in mourning but the guards won’t let them be.  The guards became more callous to the family – Lady Yoon, Tae Seo and Chung Jo.

The authorities announced in public that Park Moo Sol was accused of treason but the people did not believe it for they knew and loved the real, kindhearted Park Moo Sol.

One of the saddest moments in this episode is when the disrespectful guards wanted to remove Park Moo Sol’s body.  One of the guards pulls hard but the carriage couldn't move as if something is blocking it.  The carriage was dragged a few times but it remained on its spot until Lady Yoon asked everyone to move aside.  It was only after she talked to her husband’s body -  telling him to let go and leave - that the carriage moved.
And instead of the authorities pushing the carriage, the household members of Park Moo Sol gathered around to guide the carriage and send him off.  And as Park Moo Sol’s body pass by the villagers, they all kneel and pay respect to the man who has helped them in many ways.

The news that Park Moo Sol was accused of treason has spread the entire province reaching the officers and even the slaves and gangsters in the streets.  Worse, the authorities posted an announcement searching for Choi Kang Chi whom they claimed killed Park Moo Sol.  Since she knew that he is not a murderer, Yeo Wool searches for Kang Chi. Gon initially blocked her but Yeo Wool explained that she must look for Kang Chi and helped him because he saved her twice.

The Park family was sent to the headquarters for imprisonment.  The police took Park Tae Seo for questioning despite objections from Lady Yoon.  Park Tae Seo was tortured.  The household members are wondering about Kang Chi’s disappearance while Chung Jo, in her mind, is calling for Kang Chi to help them.

Kang Chi wakes up in a cave – Wol Ryung’s home.  When he stepped out, he finds himself in the middle of the forest, at the Moonlight Garden.
Then Sujong arrives with food.  While Sujong is asking about his condition, Kang Chi remembers what transpired the previous night.
Sujong tells Kang Chi that he is upset saying Lord Park couldn’t have died if the latter just followed his instructions – that is to leave the inn before sunset.  Sujong further said that nothing can be done and Kang Chi must stay in the Moonlight Garden for ten days.
Kang Chi declines the idea saying the only place he could stay is at the Hundred Year Inn. But Sujong stops him when he revealed it is the will of his mother.

At the headquarters, Park Tae Seo suffers from tremendous torture and gets mocked by Jo Gwan Woong.  Bi Jo later orders deputy Seo to bring Kang Chi as he is interested in his personality based on what he witnessed.  Bi Jo asks the chief of police to help him own the Hundred Year Inn in exchange for his promotion.

Tortured Park Tae Seo is sent to prison where the rest of the household of Park Moo Sol are.  He asks for Kang Chi but the male households think they abandoned him.  Outside, Yeo Wool and Gon learns that people are searching for Kang Chi because of the reward money.

Yeo Wool and Gon check out the woods but Ma Bong Chool and one of his men followed them.  Soon Gon confronted Bong Chool who even make a 50/50 deal once they find Kang Chi.
But Gon declined and showed off his sword leading Bong Chool and company to leave.  When Gon turned, Yeo Wool is nowhere to be found.

Yeo Wool follows a man in the woods but finds her self being chased.  She is running back when someone grabbed her from the side.

Good in martial arts, Yeo Wool throws the man on the ground and pulls out her knife when she sees Kang Chi in front of her.

Kang Chi sits up and covers Yeo Wool to hide from the men chasing her.  When the group of men passed by, the two realizes that their faces are too close.  Kang Chi is not bothered and even tells Yeo Wool that up close, he finds “him” pretty and can even pass for a girl.

Yeo Wool tells him that he is a wanted person in town, a murder suspect. But Kang Chi ignores her saying she is busy with her martial arts that she forgets her manners to thank him since he often saves Yeo Wool in times of danger, worse it might become a habit.

But the “closeness” ends as soon as Gon arrives and hit Kang Chi. The two are about to hit each other when Yeo Wool stops them.  She tells Choi Kang Chi about the abandoned corpse of Park Moo Sol while the rest of the household are in detention and the people have mistakenly think that he ran off after killing Park Moo Sol and everyone wants him captured.  Yeo Wool adds that he needs to hide somewhere safe.  Kang Chi is about to leave but Yeo Wool blocks him.

Kang Chi remembers that he must stay in the forest for 10 days. Then Sujong will explain after about his parents and why he was abandoned.  Kang Chi refused saying he cannot abandon Park Moo Sol and his family who raised him for 20 years. Though his fate depends on his past, he tells Sujong that he has a family to protect. He left the Moonlight Garden.

And after thanking Yeo Wool, Kang Chi leaves.  He returns at a guarded Hundred Year Inn.  Inside, Kang Chi sees a messy place, far from how it used to be - beautiful and busy.  While remembering, Kang Chi is called by Eok Man, one of the households confined at the Hundred Year Inn. Eok Man reveals that half of the household members are detained so he plans to save them.  But before he leaves, Eok Man reminded Kang Chi that the death of Lord Park is not his fault.

At the detention, the officers announced that there has been a conviction on the Park Moo Sol’s case – Park Tae Seo will be executed the following morning, Lady Yoon and Park Chung Jo will be sold as servant and gisaeng while the rest will be sold to government officials as slaves.  Kang Chi sneaks in to the headquarters.

Park Chung Jo, who is praying for help, is in a carriage about to be sent away when Kang Chi touches her hands.  He plans to rescue her but Chung Jo begs him to save Tae Seo first.  As Kang Chi was about to leave, Chung Jo holds on to his clothes.  Kang Chi holds and kisses her in the forehead with a promise to return.  Unknown to them, a guard on the roof is watching them.
Kang Chi barges in at the detention to rescue everyone but Lady Yoon begs to be left behind and orders Kang Chi to protect and save Tae Seo and Chung Jo. On their way out, the group of Kang Chi carrying Tae Seo meets the men of Jo Kwan Woong.  The group engages in a fight.
Knowing they are outnumbered, Park Moo Sol’s chief guard advises Kang Chi to leave him behind as distraction to save Tae Seo.  Tae Seo’s condition drags their escape.  Fortunately, a man, who is grateful for Park Moo Sol’s generosity and kindness approaches them and offers a hiding place.  Kang Chi and the villager were talking when one of Jo Kwan Woong’s guards appears to kill Kang Chi but falls dead.
Kang Chi learns that Yeo Wool, who is also good in archery, saves him. Yeo Wool tells the villager to keep Tae Seo for a few days before she sends some people to fetch him.  Then she instructs Kang Chi that they should distract the men running after them.
The guard assigned to send Park Chung Jo off returns making the young lady scared.  In her mind, she calls for Kang Chi who ran off to the woods with Yeo Wool to distract the guards that are after them.  Kang Chi, in his mind, tells Chung Jo to wait for him.
When Yeo Wool and Kang Chi splits to different direction, the guards followed Kang Chi and cornered him.  One of the guards – the assassin captured at the Hundred Year Inn and the one who lanced at Park Moo Sol – remembered Deputy Seo’s advise about Kang Chi’s bracelet.  He slashed it! The minute the bracelet breaks into pieces, the ground shakes and a solar eclipse happened at the same time!

Sujong, who is at the Moonlight Garden, sensed the commotion while Yeo Wool runs to where Choi Kang Chi is.  She witnessed how the guards strike Kang Chi alternately and was about to help when she sees tiny blue lights floating in the air.
Kang Chi, meanwhile, is thinking that he needs to go to save Chung Jo.  But he feels his body burning.  The guards wonder where the floating blue lights are coming from until they noticed a man standing in their middle wearing a different colored hair, sharp nails, with colored green eyes and with a growling sound --- Choi Kang Chi!!!
