GU FAMILY BOOK (Episode 11)

Happy moments commence the Episode 11 of Gu Family book with Choi Kang Chi opening a casserole with a whole chicken cooked by Master Gong Dal. The master, seated beside Kang Chi, is enjoying the admiral’s hat which he borrowed.
All these are part of their bet. Then the master asks Kang Chi why does he want to become human.  He explained that he wants go back with his family.  When asked what if they no longer want him? What will he do? Just like him, what if they have changed? Kang Chi’s answers were not revealed.

Cheong Jo overhears that Jo Kwan Woong wants to sleep with her and drops the things she is holding.  After Jo Kwan Woong left, Cheong Jo confronts Cheon Su Ryeon reiterating her disgust over the man.  She even threatened to kill herself but ends up getting a slap from the head gisaeng telling her to use this chance as an opportunity to fight back against those who oppressed her and her family.
Park Tae Seo called Kang Chi.  Kneeling, begging to take away Cheong Jo and live happily together.  He gives Kang Chi his blessing to run away with Cheong Jo.  A few feet away is Yeo Wool who is intently listening to the conversation.  Later, Yeo Wool is seem unable to concentrate in the martial arts lessons.  She walks to think when she sees Kang Chi seated in deep thoughts.

Soon she asked if he really is planning to go with Cheong Jo.  But Kang Chi explains that Cheong Jo might not go with her and she doesn’t know his real identity.  But Yeo Wool advises him that if Cheong Jo may not care, may not be okay with what he really is but if she really loves him, Cheong Jo will accept Kang Chi.
The truth is, Yeo Wool is explaining her feelings for Kang Chi as if it is the same as Cheong Jo’s.  When Kang Chi asks if it is possible, Yeo Wool confirms that it is possible for girls.  But Kang Chi, forgetting Yeo Wool’s real identity, chuckles saying what does she know about girls.  Yeo Wool reminds him that she is a girl prompting Kang Chi to rationalize that she and Cheong Jo grew up in different environments, making their mindset totally different.   But Yeo Wool stress that all women in love, regardless of how they were raised, are the same.
Kang Chi asked him if she have been in love.  She said no.  She explains one must experience it to know about love.  Kang Chi then explains the feelings of being in love.  Of course, he is explaining his feelings for Cheong Jo.  However, he promised Yeo Wool if in case he and Cheong Jo leaves, he will not leave without saying goodbye, he will let her know first before anyone else.

Watching the two is Dam Pyeong Joon.  He recalls his conversation with Master Gong Dal, whom he asked about Kang Chi.
While Master Gong Dal likes him, Dam Pyeong Joon admits what he did to Kang Chi’s father Gu Wol Ryeong.  His thoughts were interrupted when Gon approaches him.  He tells Gon to take care of the academy as he will be out on a business for a while.

At the gisaeng house, Cheong Jo is looking at the medicine sent by Kang Chi when Gop Dan, her servant, arrives.
She asks about her family and belatedly receives the news about her mother’s death.  It was also on this occasion that Gop Dan discovers of Jo Kwan Woong’s plan to sleep with Cheong Jo.  She went to the Hundred Year Inn to seek help and have someone send Kang Chi the bad news.
Unknown to them, Jo Kwan Woong is watching them.  He orders Deputy Seo to station their men at the Choong Hwan Gwan because he knows Kang Chi will go there.  It is a trap.

Choi Kang receives the bad news and opts to run immediately to save Cheong Jo.  But Yeo Wool blocks his path explaining it is a trap.
Whether a trap or not, Kang Chi tells her that Cheong Jo will be waiting, thus, he must go.  Though hurting inside, Yeo Wool volunteers to help Kang Chi in rescuing Cheong Jo.  Kang Chi declines the offer while Gon reminds her that her father is not around.  Both Gon and Kang Chi are the same in wanting Yeo Wool to stay in the academy.  But Yeo Wool is very much adamant in helping Kang Chi to rescue Cheong Jo and the two young men couldn’t stop her.
Eokman asks if the plan should not be shared to Park Tae Seo to which Kang Chi tells him not in the meantime.  Unknown to them, Park Tae Seo is intently listening to them.  He remembers Jo Kwan Woong’s threat.  When he turns around he sees Master Gong Dal who reminds him to be wise and must not be persuaded by anger.

While Park Cheong Jo is waiting for the time, Cheon Su Ryeo is contemplating on what to do.  Then at night, she asks her maid to put away all the lanterns as they will not accept any guests.  She also asked the straw mat to be rolled at the entrance.
When Jo Kwan Woong arrives, he wonders why are the lights turned off.  Then the door opens with the head gisaeng at kneeling at the straw mat.  When asked what it is all about, the head gisaeng apologizes to vicious Bi Jo that they are not accepting any guests for the night.  She also tells that she doesn’t want to repeat what transpired 20 years when Bi Jo gets obsessed with a gisaeng trainee.  Jo Kwan Woong then asks her what does she want, Chun Soo Ryun tells him to take back his request.
Choon Hwa Gwan will never open as long as his request to sleep with Cheong Jo remains.  The head gisaeng also tells the vicious retired officer to kill her instead if he doesn’t want to take back his request.  She explains that how can she continue being a head mistress if she cant protect her trainees.  Annoyed, Jo Kwan Woong tells the head gisaeng that he will comply with her want – that is to kill her.  But before Jo Kwan Woong could kill Cheon Su Ryeon, Choi Kang Chi makes a grand entrance as he interferes while standing on the roof!
When he lands on the ground, he gives his gratitude to the head gisaeng for protecting Cheong Jo.  Then an argument ensued between Kang Chi and Kwan Woong before the latter orders to seize him.  Kang Chi remembers Yeo Wool’s plan – to rescue Cheong Jo and not to fight Jo Kwan Woong.  Yeo Wool’s plan is for Kang Chi to escape the gisaeng house and run towards the town’s restaurant where a number of students dressed like Kang Chi will appear and will create confusion among the guards of Jo Kwan Woong.  He followed all these instructions.
Meanwhile, Yeo Wool rescues Cheong Jo and escape towards the woods where a secret hiding place of Yeo Wool is located.  Yeo Wool assures Cheong Jo that Kang Chi will be with them in a short while. The group soon converges in the secret house.  Kang Chi is the last to arrive among the students of the academy.
Yeo Wool asks him if he followed her orders.  Soon he asks for Park Cheong Jo.  He approaches her upon seeing Cheong Jo and asks if she is okay.
But the young lady admits she is not and then hugs Kang Chi despite the presence of others inside the room!  Choi Kang Chi comforts her and this scene hurts Yeo Wool as she looks back once more to the two before she finally leaves the room.

At the academy, Gon is waiting for Yeo Wool when master Gong Dal approaches him.  He tells Gon that if he is worried about Kang Chi and Yeo Wool, he should express his feelings more.  But Gon said he is just Yeo Wool’s shadow.

Meanwhile, Dam Pyeong Joon visits monk So Jung in his home at the mountains.  He asks Sojung if its safe for Kang Chi to mingle with humans but the monk answers the teacher about his daughter saying that once a connection has been made, it is impossible to undo fate.  In his thoughts, the master believes it is karma because after he killed Wol Ryeong, his daughter is in love with the latter’s son.
When he returns to the academy, he is surprised to see the Park siblings together.  This ends up in a meeting with Yeo Wool, Gon and Tae Seo.  He questions the presence of Cheong Jo in the academy asking Gon for not putting up with the task he gave him.  Yeo Wool defends him saying it was her decision after receiving reports that Jo Kwan Woong wants to spend the night with Cheong Jo.
The master gets mad saying Kang Chi has made a move and Yeo Wool helps him again.  He asked why did Yeo Wool create such mess when the head gisaeng promised to handle it.  Park Tae Seo then admits it’s his fault when he asked Kang Chi to rescue Cheong Jo.  He asked to be punished.
When Dam Pyeong Joon asks Tae Seo what will he do now that he angered Jo Kwan Woong more, Choi Kang Chi suddenly enters the room and volunteers to leave.
Yeo Wool objects to his proposal but Kang Chi believes leaving the academy with Cheong Jo will keep everyone safe.  He asks Park Tae Seo’s approval, who at that moment remembers his previous conversation with Deputy Seo who explained that all they want is Choi Kang Chi and the school has nothing to do with it.  Park Tae Seo then gives his blessing.

Choi Kang Chi follows angry Yeo Wool on her way to her room.  He wants them to talk but the latter refuses saying she has nothing to say.  When Kang Chi insisted, Yeo Wool reminds him of his promise to tell him first but he already announced it to everyone.
Kang Chi explains that the master already endangered himself by accepting Tae Seo, and it will endanger more the academy with Cheong Jo’s presence.  Yeo Wool asks his plans and reminds his intention to become human – his main purpose of joining the academy.  Kang Chi, who still calls Yeo Wool Sir Dam, tries to hold the lady to make her understand but the latter ask him to let go because she doesn’t want to talk to him.
Yeo Wool turns around but Kang Chi turns her back calling her by her name Yeo Wool for the first time!  Holding Yeo Wool in her arm, Kang Chi stops and couldn’t continue because of what he sees – an emotional, teary-eyed Yeo Wool. But the young lady pulled down Kang Chi’s arms, turns her back on him and enters her room where she tries hard to keep herself from crying.
Then she heard Kang Chi apologizing to her as he says her full name; that he is sorry for not telling her first that he is leaving and that he is sorry for giving up easily on his decision to become human.  Kang Chi also expresses his gratitude to Yeo Wool – that is for taking his side despite all his weaknesses.  He cites the reason why he could bear Park Moo Sol’s death, the reason he could win his situation is because of Yeo Wool.  He further expressed that he will never forget her.  Kang Chi’s heartfelt confession brings Yeo Wool to tears.

Choi Kang Chi and Park Cheong Jo bid goodbye to the masters Dam Pyeong Joon and Gong Dal together Gon on the grounds while Park Tae Seo who is at the far corner of the academy.
Kang Chi pays them respect and even requests them to extend his gratitude to the admiral for all his kindness as well as his apology for not personally saying goodbye to the admiral.  Then Kang Chi’s eyes are searching for Yeo Wool but Gon answers him that she is practicing her sword skills and orders not to be interrupted.  Before leaving the academy, Kang Chi even looks back where Yeo Wool is practicing.
In his mind, he wants to see her for the last time to say his farewell. As the two heads towards Neung Gok Hill, Master Gong Dal tells Pyeong Joon that he hopes he will not regret his decision.  But for Yeo Wool’s father, if this is a way to end their fate, he would do it.

Meanwhile, Jo Kwan Woong accepts the services of Ma Bong Chool to help him find Choi Kang Chi in exchange for money.
Bong Chool calls in almost a dozen good hunters to help him capture Kang Chi.   The guards of Jo Kwan Woong and the group of hunters are looking on at Kang Chi and Cheong Jo while they are on their way to Neung Gok Hill.  Deputy Seo orders Ma Bong Chool what to do.  Then he thanks someone who have helped them a lot – Park Tae Seo.
Tae Seo reminds Deputy Seo Bo Goo to turn over his sister once they have Kang Chi. But Jo Kwan Woong’s assistant orders Tae Seo to kill Kang Chi for them.  He adds that Tae Seo must not forget to remove the bracelet.
Later, Deputy Seo orders his men to kill everyone once the plan has been executed.

The admiral receives the report about Kang Chi’s decision to leave the academy while Yeo Wool leaves the practicing room to run after Kang Chi. Gon stops her.
He is shocked to see a lady whose eyes are swollen for crying.  She explains that she must be crazy and should have not allowed Kang Chi to leave without bidding him farewell.  Gon reminds Yeo Wool that Kang Chi is gone with another woman.  Yeo Wool tells him she just wants to say goodbye and to wish him good life.

Kang Chi and Cheong Jo are walking when the lady tripped.  She is fortunate that Kang Chi is there to hold her.   Then Kang Chi decides to rest for a while and gives Cheong Jo some water.
In their conversation, Cheong Jo tells Kang Chi that he seems distant and has changed.  Kang Chi looks worried and touches his bracelet.  Then he shares that he knows now about his biological family.  He is about to confess everything to Cheong Jo when Ma Bong Chool suddenly appears.
Ma Bong Chool tells Kang Chi that he is there to obey Lord Jo Kwan Woong’s order to kill him.  Then in an instant, he tells his men to capture him.  Soon, Kang Chi is chained by almost ten hunters while other hunters seize Cheong Jo.
To their surprise, Park Tae Seo walks towards Kang Chi with a sword.  At this moment, Kang Chi remembers his conversation with Master Gong Dal, who asked what if his family has changed and no longer wants him.  Kang Chi tells the wise man that it won’t happen.  He added that Tae Seo and Cheong Jo would never betray him.
But the master reminds him that humans are weaker than one thinks and because of this, humans become cruel. And now that Park Tae Seo is in front of him, he asks why.  Tae Seo explains that he is doing this to protect Cheong Jo and asks Kang Chi’s forgiveness.  Then he moves towards Kang Chi. And in spite Kang Chi’s please, Tae Seo removes Kang Chi’s bracelet!
Will Jo Kwan Woong’s plan succeed this time?  Will Cheong Jo accept Kang Chi when he transforms?  Is it love or just mere admiration that connects Kang Chi and Cheong Jo?  And will happen now to the fated ones –Kang Chi and Yeo Wool?
