Join Earth Hour on March 23

Let's do our share.  It's worth it. :)

Christian Bautista is now a certified Kapuso

Last March 20, 2013, multi-platinum artist Christian Bautista signed an exclusive contract with GMA Network Inc.  Present in the contract signing were GMA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Felipe L. Gozon, GMA President and Chief Operating Officer Gilberto R. Duavit Jr, OIC for Entertainment Lilybeth G. Rasonable, and Christian’s manager Carlo Orosa.

Being welcomed by the GMA executives, Christian feels very privileged and excited about this new chapter in his life, “It’s wonderful! Bagong taon, bagong makakatrabaho at bagong bahay. I feel very welcomed and very honoured na nandito na ako ngayon. With all the projects I’m doing, it’s gonna be fun!”

Carlo is looking forward towards a bright future for Christian in GMA. “We feel the warmth and sincerity of their welcome,” he adds.

When Christian was asked about his first live performance on Party Pilipinas, he shares “I’m excited! I’m ready and yung production number ko is very personalized para sa ating mga Kapuso.”

Christian will be part of GMA’s biggest party celebration in the country, Party Pilipinas.

theKUniverse learned that if things will push through, Christian will join the longest-running program Eat Bulaga! and will also be a semi-regular member of Eat Bulaga! Indonesia.  Well, that's not far from reality.  Christian, in fact, is more famous in Indonesia and Malaysia.   His fans all over Asia will surely be looking forward to these projects.

Awe-Inspiring Asianovelas

Reposting from my blog

I used to question why do broadcast networks air Asian TV series dubbed in Tagalog when Filipinos have a lot of stories to tell with talented stars waiting for the right break to come.

But I guess its just a matter of time before I realized that TV series from other Asian countries are just the same as patronizing the Mexican telenovelas or American series shown on Philippine TV.  When GMA7 aired its first Korean series Bright Girl, only few noticed.  But when ABS-CBN premiered Taiwan's Meteor Garden, the series became a phenomenal hit that up to its last re-run, the show continues to conquer the viewer's interests. The series opened up the hearts of Pinoys to love the tales and cultures of Koreans and Taiwanese.

Since then, there is no doubt of Asianovela invasion on Philippine TV and the love for such series continues up to this day. We have fallen in love with stories and twists that our local entertainment industry refuses or maybe scared to try.

Both giant networks continue to compete in purchasing the TV rights of the best TV series from other countries.  Who benefit from these competitions? Of course, the viewers. Thanks to these TV networks for if not for them, maybe only less than one percent of the Philippine population would know the breathtaking TV series of our neighboring Asian countries.  More so, we won't be able to appreciate the cultures, traditions, food and even adore the beautiful people of these countries.

And speaking of beautiful Asian people, here's a list of some of the good-looking artists who has hit our lives just like their TV series that has taken the country by storm:

* LEE MIN HO
Perfect Match (Personal Taste)
Boys Over Flowers

* JERRY YAN

Important Things to Remember Before Traveling

Here are some of important things you should bring before leaving your house for a scheduled trip.  This is basic but sometimes easily forget by travelers due to excitement especially those going abroad.  Read the list below and always double check your things.

Passport, identification cards and plane tickets – need I say more?

Money – you may bring just what you think is enough or you may bring what you saved for this exciting trip.

Travel insurance – if possible, be sure to have travel insurance before you leave the country.  This is for your security.

Medicine – it is best if you have a travel first aid kit or at least pack some important tablets like paracetamol, pain relievers, anti-diarrhea or even anti-histamines as well as vitamins.

Baggage – bring clothes that are appropriate to the weather in your destination.  You can’t wear all day a two-piece swimsuit in winter, can you? You should also bring at least one towel in case you will be staying in a hostel or a guest house that does not include such item in their service unlike first rate hotels.

Book hotel ahead of time – this is to ensure that you will have a place to stay, rest and leave your baggage when you roam around the city.

Roaming on – you may opt to turn your phones in a roaming mode or choose some free applications  that can help you connect to your loved ones for free like Viber sp you can still be connected with your family and friends.

Itinerary - If you are an adventurer and you choose to do things on your own, chances are, you might get lost sooner or later. If not, you might miss some important places you should visit.  It is highly recommended to make an itinerary on your entire trip.  If possible, find out how to get to your destination before arriving or before leaving your hotel or guest house.  Internet browsing or the use of Google maps helps in checking out the places you have never been to in your chosen destination.

Have fun - one of the reasons you left your home for this tourist destination is to have fun, so enjoy and appreciate the place you are traveling!
