YOU WHO CAME FROM THE STARS EPISODE 1

You Who Came From The Stars begins with the records of The Annals of Joseon Dynasty, The Book of Gwanghae Vol 20 about an unidentified flying object.

In August 25, 1609, a UFO or unidentified flying object is seen in  Ganseong, Wonju, Gangreung and Chuncheon.  The object was huge and fast.  And with a sound of thunder, it disappeared in an instant. But the sky then was clear without a single cloud.

In the forest, a 15-year-old widow inside a palanquin is sent to the house of her husband whom she didn’t even meet.  Her servants are crying while discussing her fate when the UFO appears above them. 

The force of the UFO was strong that it brought heavy winds causing the entourage to be thrown away including the young widow who couldn’t get out of the palanquin.  The young widow remained helpless inside when its window suddenly opens and shows where she is – at the edge of a cliff!

Seeing this, the young widow understands this might be her end.   She closes her eyes and  her tears are rolling down her cheeks when it suddenly halt midair.  Then everything around her freezes.

A good-looking young man clad in black walks towards the palanquin and pulls it towards the ground. 

Then he closed his eyes and everything turns back to life.  He opens the door of the palanquin and sees the young widow. He offers his hand, telling the teenager to come out.

At present, a man wearing a white long-sleeves, black necktie and black pants shares that in the report of the Annals of Joseon Dynasty in 1601 Gwanghae’s rule, there was a UFO which he said brought him to Joseon. 

He said the Earth people named his star KMT 184.05.  He explains that his planet is very much like Earth. That is where he is from.  He adds that since the Joseon era up to present, in which he is seen adapting to each period, Hanyang is now called Seoul.  He said he has lived in this place for more than 400 years.  He had adapted fully well to Earth.  His senses are seven times better than humans.

  With his ability, he can see or hear things he’d rather not see or hear.  He adds that he eats alone because he doesn’t like any particular food but he cannot exchange any fluid or blood with any human.  He also explains that he doesn’t help people because he finds it meaningless to get involved in their lives. 

He quips that just like he needs to live on Earth for 400 years, some things are just bound to happen whether you like it or not.  People call it fate.  Then he remembers when he was crossing an intersection, he sees a report on a huge LED about a comet set to passby the Earth in three months. 

He said a new fate is about to begin after turning upside down or setting a new an hourglass with blue powder.  He explains that the comet he has been waiting for is coming to Earth after four centuries.  He is looking forward that in three months, he will come back to where he came from. Then an evolution of his life on Earth - from ancient days to modern times.  He is Do Min Joon.

There is an ongoing shooting and the crowd is going gaga over an actress seated under an umbrella while her assistant is fixing her nails.

Her road manager runs towards her and gives her a cup of mocha latte.After some selfie with her coffee, she gives it to her lady assistant. She explains that she will not jog for the calories she needs to lose for sipping coffee.  She posts her photo in her SNS with a few captions.  However, her caption is incorrect making her a laughing stock by netizens.

She is Cheon Song Yi, a glamorous, gorgeous, big star who grew up in the entertainment industry.  She is a stubborn, conceited and kinda dumb in many ways.Because she reaps buckets of money, her management tries hard to put up with her behavior and cover her flaws.  When the president of her agency persuades her to stop tweeting, Cheon Song Yi refuses. 

She even mentions that the president of the rival agency has been calling her asking if she wants to change to a new management, which rattles her management.  So they follow her whims. Inside the faculty of a university, Cheon Song Yi’s stupid post remains a discussion.  Then one of the teachers reminded everyone about an event they all need to attend. 

One of the teachers stands up and asks if Do Min Joon is going.  The alien, who prefers to be alone, declines.  The teacher encourages him to join since they have been working for over a year.  The female teacher even asks if Do Min Joon knows her name, when he did not reply, the other teachers ask him as well if he knows their names.  Without a word, Do Min Joon excuses himself. Meanwhile, on their way home, Cheon Song Yi is arguing with her road manager who wants her to stop her useless and nonsense posts.

But the stubborn Cheon Song Yi refuses and even gets mad at her road manager.  She storms out of the van but her staff followed her.  She screams at them that she wants to go to her unit alone despite their reminder that she doesn’t know her place since she is new in the building. 

Cheon Song Yi is waiting for the elevator when Do Min Joon arrives. 

He gets into the elevator with Cheon Song Yi who pressed the button for her floor. 

Do Min Joon did not.  Cheon Song Yi waited for him and soon becomes impatient.  She confronts Do Min Joon.  Cheon Song Yi asks the teacher why he didn’t press any button.  Impatient of his response, Cheon Song Yi reveals herself and assumes he is stalking her.She even asks if Do Min Joon wants an autograph or a photo with her so he would leave her.  Do Min Joon inhales and tries to ignore her.  But the actress continues with her assumptions telling Do Min Joon to do some exercise to release his energy since young men like him are vigorous instead of following her.  She was still talking when Do Min Joon gets off the elevator.  The actress follows him while still babbling aloud when she realizes that Do Min Joon is pressing his digital doorlock.

Apparently, they are neighbors.  Cheon Song Yi tries to be nice to her neighbor saying she just moved in to the next door.  Cheon Song Yi is surprised that Do Min Joon doesn’t know him and he even gestures her to move away because he will press his password.

Meanwhile, Cheon Song Yi’s mother gets embarrassed during a dinner when she gets caught that she is not aware about her daughter moving in to a new apartment.  Later she calls Song Yi who is busy taking her calls.  Song Yi is reading comments about her.  It turns out that there is a problem between Cheon Song Yi and her mother.  Worse, she belongs to a broken family.  Cheon Song Yi has a brother who is good-looking as her.  She tries to call  Cheon Yoon Jae but the young man, who is busy in playing internet games in a computer shop, ignores her call.

When Yoon Jae sees that his friend beside him is trying to photoshop the face of her sister over a sexy body, he gets angry, kicks his friend and orders him to delete it before he walks to the restroom.  It looks like that Yoon Jae’s friends are not aware of his relation with Song Yi. Teacher Do Min Joon is already in bed by 10pm. 

Since all his senses are sensitive, a simple drop of water can wake him up.   He came back to bed but heard someone screaming.  It turns out, Cheon Song Yi is doing an all out singing in her room. Do Min Joon rings the door.  He reminds her about the time and should not be singing in a late hour.

  The actress is surprised that someone heard her when she knows that the units in the building are sound proof.  Still, she apologizes and was about to close the door when Do Min Joon tells her that when someone sings bad, it is making noise rather than singing.He adds that noise disturbance is a crime and if he reports it to the police, Cheon Song Yi will get a penalty.Cheon Song Yi asks if he is going to report her to the police.  Do Min Joon says he is not going to only if they look at the situation with common sense.  Hearing this word, Cheon Song Yi butts in asking Do Min Joon if he thinks she lacks common sense.

This triggered Cheong Song Yi’s rant. Teary eyed and in a high pitch tone, Cheon Song Yi suddenly stops after her sudden outburst.Do Min Joon was about to say something when Cheon Song Yi raises her hand and tells the man in front of her to stop adding she doesn’t feel like talking to him anymore.  Then she closes her door.  Inside her room, Cheon Song Yi is crying on her bed. 

Complaining how people, who tell her how beautiful she is, could hate her as much.  Do Min Joon couldn’t sleep because of Song Yi. Since he couldn’t sleep, Do Min Joon decides to go to his library, - a huge library.  He picks up a notebook and writes record of his last three months on Earth.

The following morning at a film location, the road manager of actress Yoo Se Mi, who is a childhood friend of Cheon Song Yi, is complaining to one of the production staff for keeping them on standby since 5am.Se Mi’s staff argues that if it is Cheon Song Yi, the production will not delay the filming.  The production staff is getting angry prompting Se Mi to interfere.  Se Mi’s road manager is not aware that Cheon Song Yi cannot make it to the shoot that day, thus, the delay.  Meanwhile, Cheon Song Yi is watching a news report together with the entire team at their talent agency’s office.   The report is about her being absent in school for a long period of time. 

The report further revealed that she is busy with her work but her recent tweets revealed she is not busy at all.  The president of her agency explains the reasons why she she must go to school today.

Lee Hui Kyeong arrives from abroad and heads straight back not at home but to Cheon Song Yi, who is in a salon getting fixed before going to school.  He asks her if she is not happy seeing him after six months of being away. 

But the ever-conceited Cheon Song Yi says she is not happy to see him.  Hui Kyeong offers her a ride to school and later becomes her bodyguard when she arrives in school. 

Lee  Hui Kyeong has been a persistent suitor of Cheon Song Yi.  They are good friends, too, since they were young.  Inside the class, Cheon Song Yi is admired by men and gets praises for her beauty while she gets nitpicked by the ladies who think she underwent surgery. 

Cheon Song Yi, however, gets the most big surprised when her teacher walks in who checked on his class with his last glimpse on Cheon Song Yi.  It's her neighbor, Do Min Joon. Cheon Song Yi’s road manager hopes she did not intimidate her lecturer-neighbor because she really needs to work on his subject on which she got an F the previous semester. Cheon Song Yi feels so embarrassed about the situation. 

During the lecture, the actress couldn’t control herself from yawning and even falling asleep.  Do Min Joon have seen all these.Cheon Song Yi tries hard to keep up with the lecture until the end of the class with the help of her road manager. When everyone is already out of the room, the road manager closes the door.  This gives Cheon Song Yi a chance to talk to Do Min Joo.

She tries to persuade him to lessen her assignment using her status as a Hallyu star but to no avail.  The lecturer is playing a game with his lawyer friend Jang Young Mok, who is making fun of him for not knowing who Cheon Song Yi is. Do Min Joon admits he doesn’t really know celebrities nowadays.  He doesn’t watch latest dramas, too. 

The two agreed that the singers and the dramas during their time are more fun to watch.  Do Min Joon asks his friend about the latter’s newly built law office.  He adds that in three months time, he will need his Jang Young Mok to make another death certificate for him.  The lawyer is surprised that the lecturer wants a new death certificate when it should be done every 10 years.  It has been two years since the last time he made a death certificate for Do Min Joon.  However, Do Min Joon explains he thinks this will be the last.  He thanked his friend for all the time he spent with him.  Apparently, Jang Young Mok is the only human who knows Do Min Joon’s real identity. 

Meanwhile, Cheon Song Yi, Lee Hui Kyeong and Yoo Se Mi were having dinner in a posh restaurant.  Soon, Lee Hui Kyeong calls the attention of Yoo Se Mi, who is secretly in love with him.  Unaware of Se Mi’s feelings for him, Hui Kyeong asks her to be his witness as he puts out a small dome shaped boxed and proposes to Cheon Song Yi.

Lawyer Jang shows a photo of him and Do Min Joon three decades ago.  Do Min Joon explains that Jang Young Mok is his only friend because he the reason that people age and die quickly while he is left behind just how they met him the first time.  Then he tells lawyer Jang to live well even when he is gone. 

Lawyer Jang asks why Do Min Joon failed to leave the first time he stepped foot on Earth.  Do Min Joon explains that he had an accident and a child died at that time because of him.  Do Min Joon looks back at the Joseon period.  A young lady, whom he saved on the cliff, gives him a painting about his spaceship as a present.

However, Do Min Joon added he finds it strange meeting 12 years ago a girl with the same features from the lady 400 years ago.He shares that he was working at a hospital a day before Christmas when he sees vision of a young girl who gets into a vehicular accident in an intersection. 

At this time, Cheon Song Yi turns down Hui Kyeong’s proposal.  Then she talks about the man who saved her 12 years ago when she almost died in an accident.  Se Mi tells Hui Kyeong that man is Song Yi’s first love.  Cheon Song Yi remembers the incident from her, when she ran out towards the street and almost got killed by a truck if not for a man who saved her on time.But Cheon Song Yi clarifies that its not her first love.She just wants to meet him again to thank him for saving her and to ask why he saved her.

At the same time, Do Min Joon is telling Lawyer Jang what happened that fateful night 12 years ago.  He checks the place in his vision and then sees a girl running and being chased.  He remembers his vision.  Then Do Min Joon, who was clad in black and standing on the other side of the intersection, sees a truck coming and is about to hit the girl. 

Do Min Joon stops the time and saves the girl from her death.  The girl, now in his arms, asks if he is a ghost or a grim reaper – questions asked to him by the girl with the same features 400 years ago. 

Do Min Joon is wondering if its just a dream to see identical beings on different time.  He revealed that in case it is not a dream, he would like to meet her before he leaves.  He thinks it won’t happen. On his way back home, when the condo’s elevator opens, he meets the beautiful Cheon Song Yi.

Unknown to Do Min Joon, she is the girl he is looking for and he is the man that Cheon Song Yi has been wanting to meet again.
