There is chaos in some parts of the Hundred Year Inn. The Japanese guards
are chasing Choi Kang Chi after he hit several ninjas and took away the maps
inside the storage during a secret meeting of the Japanese guards.
Seeing a dark guest
room, Kang Chi enters to hide. Kang Chi thinks he
is safe when he heard a Japanese speaking woman! Kang Chi tries
to answer using the Japanese words he know but its not fitting as answers to Ja
Hong Myeong’s questions. The lady merchant then asks him in Joseon
language which surprised Kang Chi.
Then a guard asks the lady if she is safe and informed her that they are chasing an assailant. The lady asks Kang Chi if he is the one they are looking for. Kang Chi tells her that the bad guys are the ones chasing him. Kang Chi is surprised that the merchant lady speaks Joseon language fluently.
Ja Hong Myeong explains that she is a Joseon person and has been assisting the Japanese that’s why she is staying at the inn. Hearing that, Kang Chi tells the merchant about the three signature dishes of Hundred Year Inn that should be served to her.
After some conversation, the merchant lady asks Kang Chi his name just as he was about to leave. Choi Kang Chi even explained the meaning of his name – Kang for river and Chi for abandoned. After Kang Chi leaves the room, the lady merchant noticed a piece of paper on the floor near the door. When she picks it up, she discovered that it is a piece of the map owned by the Goon Bon group!

On the
other side of the Hundred Year Inn, the festivity stopped after Jang Ryeong
received a report from his staff. Cheon
Soo Ryun requests them to stay a little longer as there are more performances
left. The fake Ja Hong Myeong is on her way out when a gisaeng accidentally
spills liquor on her. The gisaeng scrub
it but ends up pulling her kimono thereby exposing her shoulder. The head gisaeng approach her, discreetly
checks her shoulder if it has the gisaeng tattoo, and apologizes for the
behavior of her gisaengs.
Later, Cheon Soo Ryun tells Jo Kwan Woong that the Japanese lady they met at the feast is a fake. Jo Kwan Woong asks if she can risk her life for it, to which the head gisaeng replies that if she does, would he believe her. The head gisaeng also asks him that despite working with them for 20years, the Goon Bon is rude to him.

Outside, Yeo
Wool is looking around, spying, wondering what happened to Kang Chi. Then she
gets a surprised company! Kang Chi appears beside him! She asks him what did he
do that turned the inn in a mad beehive. Kang Chi tells her that
she will explain after they get out of the inn. Holding hands, the
two are on their way out when they heard someone telling them they cannot get
out of that way – Park Tae Seo appears with Gon.
Park Tae Seo
explains that every exit is heavily guarded. He glanced at the
clasp hands of Kang Chi and Yeo Wool, who noticed that Tae Seo glance at it. Kang Chi
didn’t budge and is more concern of how they can get out of the inn despite the
guards. Tae Seo reminds them that they are in a spy mission so no one
should know about their presence.
Jo Kwan Woong
receives the report that there is a disorder in the area of Goon Bon merchants
after a thief stole something from them.
Jo Kwan Woong
checks on his guests and discovers that something important was stolen from Goon
Bon. With such commotion, Jo Kwan Woong believes what was stolen
could probably be a part of their grand plan and if so, it is important to him
as well.
The gisaengs
headed by Cheon Soo Ryun are leaving when they see Park Tae Seo at the stairs telling his
servant Eokman to light the way for the ladies. But just as the
female group is about to leave, Jo Kwan Woong stops them.
Jo Kwan Woong
tells the head gisaeng about a thief and feels a weird coincidence of the feast
and a thief inside the inn happening at the same night. Soo Ryun
asks him if he is suspecting her group. Jo Kwan Woong denies it
but to make sure, they will do the search. The head gisaeng gives
in to his request and orders everyone to remove their cloaks. The
retired officer then asks his guards to do a thorough search but found
nothing.
For not finding
what he is looking for, he tells his subordinate to report the incident to the
police and check the Moo Hyung Martial Arts Academy which he suspect is related to the
thievery.
As soon as Jo
Kwan Woong turns his back and let the gisaengs leave, Park Tae Seo gives his
signal to Choi Ma Reum, who in turn, sends Kang Chi, Yeo Wool and Gon
- all wearing hanbok and covered with cloak – to leave with the rest of the
gisaengs.
The trio is
safe. They are at the Choonhwangwan and were sent to hide in the
room of Park Cheong Jo. Omo, the head gisaeng’s assistant, didn’t
know that Wol San followed them.
Cheon Soo Ryun enters the room and tells Gon Yi and Kang Chi to come with her as elders have arrived. In a room, the head gisaeng welcomes Master Dam and the Admiral Lee Soon Sin. She apologizes for asking
them to come in late hours.
Seeing Kang Chi in the room, the master asks why is he present. Gon defends him saying he tapped Kang Chi in the mission because they needed someone who knows the inn very well. The master inquire if Yeo Wool joined the mission too but before the two young men could answer, the Admiral asks what must be delivered to him urgently in the middle of the night. Kang Chi then presents the map. However, he realized that one of the pieces is missing!
Looking at the map, the admiral is amazed to find how accurate the details of the map are. Gon thinks that the creation of the map is related to the murder in the southern provinces. The group concludes that the Japanese have prepared with such great detail. The admiral reveals that the political faction has convinced the King that there will be no war, which means all the construction, and preventive measures are on hold. The discussion gets interrupted with Kang Chi searching for the missing piece of the map.
At the Hundred Year Inn, Ja Hong Myeong asks about the situation and confirms that the map they created for months was stolen. Then she showed them a piece of the map and orders her warriors to find Choi
Kang Chi and stolen map!
At the gisaeng house, Yeo Wool and Gon Yi confront Kang Chi on how he lost the map. Yeo Wool seeks an assurance that Kang Chi didn’t show his face to the lady merchant. However, she learns otherwise. Kang Chi claims they happened to see each other’s faces unintentionally. Gon interrupts saying its okay as long as his identity remains unknown. But Kang Chi tells them that he just answered when she asked for his name. He added that the woman’s facial expression was warm and kind, then Gon interjects that she was pretty. Kang Chi couldn’t answer.
Yeo Wool asks him if the woman was pretty. Still, Kang Chi couldn’t reply instead he explains that it’s a kind of face that looks like he had seen before even though it happened for the first time. Yeo Wool butts in that the lady was pretty but Kang Chi declines. Gon is disappointed pointing out that Jo Kwan Woong’s men are already chasing them then careless Kang Chi did a great job for revealing his identity to a stranger!
But Kang Chi defends the merchant saying she saved his life from ninjas who were chasing him. Yeo Wool tells him because of that, it would not be safe outside. She tells Gon that they should stay at the gisaeng house until the sun rises. Then Kang Chi tries to convince Yeo Wool that his careless was not because the guest at the inn was pretty. However, Yeo Wool ignores him.
The head gisaeng tells Master Dam her inkling that Ja Hong Myeong might be Seo Hwa. Soo Ryun shares that it has yet to be verified but aside from what was reported to her, Wol Ryung resurrecting from the dead as a thousand year demon is a huge concern. The master said that if it’s all true, then he is worried both for Kang Chi and Ja Hong Myeong. Park Cheong Jo, who was assigned to bring the snacks to the masters, heard all these information. She returned to the kitchen and asked Omo all about Seo Hwa –her identity, her relationship with Kang Chi, head gisaeng and Master Dam.
Jo Kwan Woong is fuming mad at Ja Hong Myeong because he believes they are hiding something from him. He gives her the option to make a choice – that is to keep their business and show her face to him or they’d better end their deal. The vicious retired officer reminds her that if the map falls into the hands of the admiral, all their lives will be in danger. He then threatens to abandon the Japanese delegates if they will not stop deceiving him.
Jo Kwan Woong’s threats are effective when Ja Hong Myeong stops him from leaving. Ask if he could bring the map back, the wicked officer tells her that he will give her an answer after he sees her face. Ja Hong Myeong orders the blinds to be lifted. Jo Kwan Woong is dumbfounded to see the face of the person in front of him. He asks if she is Yoon Seo Hwa but the latter denies it saying she is the head of Goon Bon, Ja Hong Myeong.
Park Tae Seo, meanwhile, sent reports to the admiral of what’s going on at the inn.
Meanwhile, Cheon Soo Ryeon commends Kang Chi for doing a good job the previous night for securing the map. He feels relieved that Soo Ryeon assured her the master is worried and not mad at him. Then the head gisaeng tells Kang Chi that her eyes look like her mother’s. When Kang Chi asks him if she knows his mother, the head gisaeng gives Kang Chi a challenge to solve. Then she reveals that she is one of the Four Noble masters bearing the orchid mark. She orders Kang Chi to cut the wood written on the paper and bring it to her.
At Park Cheong Jo’s room, Yeo Wool is walking to and fro waiting for Kang Chi and Gon. Cheong Jo asks if Yeo Wool knows the name Seo Hwa, the mother of Kang Chi. Hearing Yeo Wool doesn’t, Cheong Jo shares that Seo Hwa is also a noble-turned-gisaeng who meets and falls in love with Kang Chi’s father, a divine creature. Knowing that part, Yeo Wool agrees then turns to look at the door.
But Cheong Jo didn’t stop there. She asks Yeo Wool if she knows who killed Kang Chi’s father. The question froze Yeo Wool. Cheong Jo describes that it was a noble sheriff at that time. Cheong Jo said it is Dam Pyeong Joon, Yeo Wool’s father. She asks if Yeo Wool knows this fact, Yeo Wool didn’t answer leaving Cheong Jo to conclude her knowledge about it. Cheong Jo then
asks if Kang Chi knows about this fact and if she is hiding it from Kang Chi. She somehow insults Yeo Wool saying she is probably pretending that it is not a big deal and probably she has a great heart.
But Yeo Wool warns her not to say anything about love. Cheong Jo stress that the worst thing is deception. Teary-eyed, Yeo Wool tells Cheong Jo that this is something they should not talk about then she leaves the room. But when she opens the door, she finds Choi Kang Chi standing at the doorstep!
Bewildered Kang Chi asks Yeo Wool about it but the young lady left without a word.
Yeo Wool runs out to the garden wondering what to do. Gon sees her crying. She thinks Kang Chil will not look at her again.
Later at the academy, Master Dam receives a guest – Monk So Jung.
Meanwhile, Gon and Yeo Wool find out that Kang Chi left saying he needed to see someone. Cheong Jo thinks that Kang Chi left to meet the person who killed his father. Yeo Wool immediately left.
Yeo Wool approaches her boyfriend. She tries to get closer but Kang Chi looks cold and mad when he turns to her.
Yeo Wool calls him and tries to explain when Kang Chi walks towards her. Closer. Then walk past her!
Kang Chi noticed an incense inside the room. Then Cheong Jo asks him to drink another cup. Kang Chi is declining because he had four cups already but the lady tells him, it will be the last before she tells him why he asked him to come.
Then the Cheon Soo Ryeon sees Gop Dan asking for Park Cheong Jo. Seeing the servant tensed, she asks what's going on.

Yeo Wool runs out to the garden wondering what to do. Gon sees her crying. She thinks Kang Chil will not look at her again.
When
Cheong Jo asks Kang Chi what part did he start listening to, he heard everything. Kang Chi confirms what
he heard. Chung Jo said she heard that
Dam Pyeong Joon slashed Kang Chi’s father, left alone, his mother gave birth to
him before she died. Kang Chi couldn’t help
but cry listening to all these details.
While
Kang Chi is saddened by the news, Ja Hong Myeong is infuriating in her room
while looking at the remaining piece of the map.
Wol Ryung, on the other hand, is struggling as his memory slowly wanes. Wol Ryung couldn’t remember that he went to So
Jung’s underground library. Worse, Wol
Ryung throws So Jung as he asks the name of the monk. So Jung reminds Wol Ryung who he is. When the mythical being calms down, he tells
the monk to go away and don’t come closer to him.
At
the Hundred Year Inn, a furious Choi Kang Chi storms the room of Master Dam
Pyeong Joon who is calmly seated in his chair with a sword in front of him. As soon as Kang Chi gets closer, Dam Pyeong Joon throws his sword. He reveals the sword was the one used to kill his father. When asked why the
master did it, he explained that he killed 15 of his men and even tried to
attack Kang Chi's mother. The master said he
had no choice. Kang Chi asks if his
father was a horrible creature to attack the one he loves, the master explains
it was Kang Chi’s father who was betrayed.
The master narrates that Wol Ryung wants to be human just like Kang Chi and had been
praying for 100 days to find the Gu Family Book. He ended up showing his real identity which scared
his mother. Kang Chi ends the master’s
statement saying it is an excuse that he killed his father to protect his mother. But the
master asks if he heard it as an
excuse. In tears, Kang Chi thinks that
the tip of the sword is the source of his family’s tragedy.
Outside, Yeo Wool and Gon are seen racing towards the academy. They asks Kang Chi’s whereabouts when they
saw Seung. Yeo Wool learned that Kang
Chi and her father are inside the master’s room. Then they see Choi Kang Chi walk towards them
with blood dripping on his hands. Gon
and Seung run toward the master immediately after seeing the blood in Kang
Chi’s hands. Kang Chi calls his girlfriend's name and
Yeo Wool slowly approaches her. Seeing
blood on his hands and fearing its from the master, an angry Yeo Wool walks out
without a word to see her father, leaving her shocked boyfriend behind!
Left
alone, Kang Chi remembers what his father told him – that the only thing he will get from believing in
humans is betrayal.
Gon
and Yeo Wool see the master standing looking at the broken sword in front of
him. Then tells how it happened. Kang Chi breaks the sword. He said that what happened 20 years ago transpired
before they were born and is between the elders. He pleads not to push the past to the
young generation saying the elders’s business must be solved by the elders.
Hearing
this, Yeo Wool didn’t waste any time.
She runs back to Kang Chi but she panics when her boyfriend is nowhere in
sight. She searches for him until she
sees him treating his wounds just outside the academy.
Yeo Wool approaches her boyfriend. She tries to get closer but Kang Chi looks cold and mad when he turns to her.
Yeo Wool calls him and tries to explain when Kang Chi walks towards her. Closer. Then walk past her!
Yeo Wool is on the verge of breaking down when
someone hugs her from behind – Kang Chi!
This is one of the most unforgettable scenes in the series that elicit mixed emotions to viewers. Just when you think its over between these
two hapless lovers, Kang Chi, who is overflowing with forgiveness, shows how
much he loves Yeo Wool!
Still
in a backhug post, Kang Chi, in tears, tells his girlfriend never to keep secrets
from him again and to never pass by him like a stranger. Crying,
Yeo Wool explains that she is sorry and
didn’t know how to tell him about the truth.
Then Kang Chi turns her around and orders her to look at him. Kang Chi tells Yeo Wool that he likes her and
that he likes her a lot!
Meanwhile,
Wol Ryung is becoming more evil. He is progressing
further as the thousand year demon. Ja
Hong Myeong wakes up with fear in her eyes.

Jo Kwan Woong asks if Kang Chi spent the night at the Choonhwangwan, Wol
San, who emerged from a hidden room, says she witnessed Kang Chi
entering Cheong Jo’s room.
Kang
Chi gets surprised to see his visitor – Gop Dan, Chung Jo’s servant. According to her, Park Chung Jo needs to say something to her
and he must come to the gisaeng house right away. Kang Chi went to the gisaeng house and was
accompanied to Cheong Jo’s room.
Meanwhile,
at the Hundred Year Inn, Gon is surprised when Yeo Joo tells him that Yeo Wool
has a visitor – a gisaeng. He then
remembers that Choi Kang Chi tells him earlier that he is going to Choonhwagwan
because Cheong Jo asked to see him.
At the gisaeng house, Kang

Cheong Jo says she has something to tell Yeo Wool about Kang Chi.
Gon
barges in Yeo Wool's room and asks why Cheong Jo is in the room when Kang Chi told him she asked him to see her at the Choonhwagwan. But Cheong Jo doesn’t know about it.
Kang Chi feels dizzy when the head gisaeng enters the room.
Then head gisaeng discover Wol San in Cheong Jo's room which shocked Kang Chi! Wol San even justifies that she is drinking Chihon wine with Kang Chi.

Cheon Soo Ryeon tells Kang Chi to stay still or he’ll get even more drunk. Wolsan
reveals Kang Chi had 5 cups of wine but the wine doesn't seem to affect the young man.
Cheon Soo Ryeon asks Jo Kwan Woong what's going on but the wicked officer tells he is just catching a thief who went
in the inn last night. He warns her that if she doesn't want to be accused of hiding a thief, she should step aside.
Jo Kwan Woong wants Ja Hong Myeong to confirm if Choi Kang Chi is the thief. The lady merchant asks for the map but the retired officer explains that Choi Kang Chi is still drunk and has not divulged any information yet where he left the missing map.
The head of Goon Bon group asks Jo Kwan Woong why did they chain a drunken, helpless, young man. Jo Kwan Woong tells the lady merchant about Kang Chi’s identity.
They removed his bracelet.
Kang Chi transforms. Ja Hong Myeong controls her reaction. Jo Kwan Woong confirms if this is the monster that the merchant lady is looking.
Then chained Kang Chi suddenly collapsed!
